Toyota Rumion MPV Waiting Period Extends up to 8 Months in India
The Toyota Rumion MPV is available for sale in six different variants — S MT/AT, G MT, V MT/AT, and S MT CNG, across five colour options. The ex-showroom price starts at Rs 10.44 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.73 lakh.
In August 2023, Toyota introduced the Rumion, a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, in India. Since then, this model has become increasingly popular in the nation among MPV purchasers, often leading to a prolonged waiting period for the vehicle. For those who are unaware, the popular Japanese auto manufacturer offers Rumion with petrol and CNG powertrains in three different variants – S, G, and V. The price starts at Rs 10.44 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.73 lakh. Both figures are ex-showroom. Customers who wish to take home the petrol-powered Rumion will currently have to wait 7 to 8 months (28 to 32 weeks) from the time of booking. However, as the carmaker has stopped accepting reservations for the CNG versions, people who had intended to purchase the same may need to reconsider.
Toyota Rumion MPV: Powertrain Details
Similar to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Toyota Rumion is available with a 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine. Interestingly, the Neo Drive (ISG) technology has been used in this mill. The family MPV has a fuel efficiency of 20.5km/l, just like the Maruti Suzuki Model, but the CNG version achieves 26.11km/kg thanks to a factory-installed kit. There is a six-speed automatic transmission and a five-speed manual gearbox to handle the transmission chores.
Toyota Rumion MPV: Design
Though it is based on the Ertiga, a few design cues set the new Rumion apart from the popular MPV in terms of aesthetics. The car sports a new front grille with a mesh design in place of the original set of projector headlamps on either side. In addition to the alloy wheels, changes were also made to the front and back bumpers. There is also a seven-seater version of the model on sale in the Indian market.

As you go inside the cabin, you will notice the inlays of faux wood adorn the dual-tone black and beige dashboard of the Rumion. Additional creature comforts come in the form of cruise control, automatic climate control, and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
