Toyota Hilux Hydrogen Fuel Cell Prototype Global Debut
A hydrogen-powered Toyota Hilux prototype made its international debut in September of this year. The mechanical design of the Hilux FCEV is based on the Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric car. The Hilux's core mechanical arrangement includes three high-pressure storage tanks that can store hydrogen gas and provide a range of around 590 kilometres. To preserve inside space, the fuel cell stack's battery, which stores electricity, is situated in the load bay in the rear. Moreover, a steel cover protects the cargo area on the inside. Toyota claims that the Hilux, like the Mirai, will only generate water vapor when moving. Other than this, the automaker has not provided any details regarding weight, towing capacity, or other elements.
