Toyota Hilux Gets a Big Price Cut in India; Base Variant Starts at Rs 30.40 Lakh
Toyota has reduced the cost of the Hilux Standard MT by Rs 3.59 lakh. Consequently, the Hilux now has a starting price of Rs 30.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The automaker increased the prices of the High MT and High AT variants by Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.10 lakh, respectively, while lowering the base price.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently updated its Hilux pick-up truck prices. The Hilux is available in two variants: Standard and High. After nearly a year, the firm is now accepting reservations for the Toyota Hilux. Coming to the price revisions implemented by the auto manufacturer, the price of the 4X4 standard MT variant of the 2023 Toyota Hilux has been reduced by Rs 3.60 lakh, while the High MT and AT variants are increased by Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.10 lakh, respectively. Following this, the Toyota Hilux's prices now range between Rs 30.40 lakh and Rs 37.90 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). Toyota Hilux: Design, Platform and Dimensions
The Hilux is available in the country with a double-cab body style. It has a sizable hexagonal chrome grille up front, along with swept-back LED headlamps. To further emphasise its tough, off-road appeal in profile, it receives beefy, black plastic cladding over the wheel arches. The Hilux has a simple rear end and resembles a typical pickup truck, but it also has a lot of chrome.
The Hilux and the Fortuner have similar underpinnings in addition to their similar designs. Both use Toyota's IMV ladder-frame chassis. The Hilux is one of the largest cars sold in India, measuring 5,325mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,815mm in height, and 3,085mm in wheelbase.
Toyota Hilux: Engine and Gearbox
The Toyota Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 201bhp of maximum power and 420Nm of peak torque in MT variants and 500Nm of torque in AT variants. Both a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission are included with the engine. The Toyota Hilux also features front and rear electronic differential locks in addition to a 4X4 drive system as standard equipment.
Toyota Hilux: Interior and Features
The trim and switchgear on the Hilux's interior are quite similar to those on the Fortuner. It comes with the same touchscreen, climate control panel, instrument cluster, steering wheel, and front seats despite having a slightly different dashboard layout. In addition to an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, an electrochromic interior rearview mirror, a tyre angle monitor, active traction control, and an automated limited-slip differential are all standard on the Hilux.

Toyota Hilux: Rivals
In the Indian market, the Toyota Hilux's direct rival is the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, a lifestyle pickup truck that is priced between Rs 23 lakh and Rs 27 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
