Tata Tiago NRG Exterior

The Tata Tiago NRG new model is very identical to its regular hatchback sibling, except for the additional body kit all around. Up-front, the fascia remains more or less the same with smoked-out inserts, but you'll notice the faux brushed-aluminium scuff plates, a blacked-out front grille and a rugged lower lip on the front bumper.

You'll also notice that the wing mirrors and door handles are black in colour; so is the roof. At the rear, it gets a black plastic panel on the tailgate and a skid plate on the lower half of the rear bumper. Owing to the extra body cladding, it is wider, longer and taller than the regular hatchback.

Tata Tiago NRG Variants

The Tata Tiago NRG variants are as follows: 1.2L Petrol MT and 1.2L Petrol AMT. Features include contrast stitch fabric upholstery, height-adjustable driver seat, reflector headlamps, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto-fold wing mirrors, power windows all around, a Harman audio system and Bluetooth connectivity. Safety-wise, it is equipped with dual front airbags and ABS with EBD.

As part of the kit, it gets reflector headlamps, contrast stitch fabric upholstery, manual air-con, power-assisted and tilt-adjustable steering, height-adjustable driver seat, remote locking, four power windows and electrically adjustable wing mirrors. What will surely go down well with prospective customers is the introduction of a greater set of popular features, like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push-button start with keyless entry, and auto-fold wing mirrors over a slight bump in Tata Tiago NRG on-road price.

Inside the Tata Tiago NRG new model, the dashboard remains the same but gets a push-button start with keyless entry. The steering continues to feel good to grip and the audio controls are perfectly positioned. The levels of fit and finish are great, and the all-black theme for the cabin looks really nice. The piano-black finish on the steering and door handle remains. Space is never a problem - there's sufficient legroom, but headroom could've been better. The seats provide good comfort and are well-bolstered. And up to three occupants will be comfortable on the rear bench. As for the audio quality from the 4-speaker, 4-tweeter setup - well, let's just say that it is sure to be enjoyed by customers who love music on the go. Boot space, at 240 litres, is very impressive.

The Tata Tiago NRG remains mechanically unchanged in comparison to the standard model. Therefore, it comes powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the higher trim comes married to an AMT gearbox.
