Tata Safari Engine, Specifications, and Performance

This Tata car has been provided with a ‘BS-6 Phase2’ compliant 2.0 L Kryotec turbocharged engine. It has a configuration of four inline cylinders with four valves per cylinder operated by a dual overhead camshaft. It churns out a maximum power of 167bhp at 3750 rpm and a peak torque of 350 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm. Further, the ARAI-claimed Tata Safari mileage is 14.5 km/l for automatic variants and 16.30 km/l for manual variants.

A few variants of this SUV get a six-speed automatic (TC) transmission system while a few get a manual transmission system. The car’s suspension includes an independent, lower wishbone, McPherson strut with coil spring and anti-roll bar in the front. In the rear, it gets a semi-independent twist blade with a Panhard rod and coil spring. Further, the size of the wheels is 17-19 inches and they wear 235-245mm wide tyres; different variants boast different-sized wheels/tyres. The braking duties of the Safari car are performed by the disc brakes.

In terms of dimensions, it is a 4668mm long and 1922mm wide vehicle with a wheelbase of 2741mm. The height of the car is 1795mm along with a ground clearance of 205mm. Further, its boot space is 420 litres and its fuel tank capacity is 50 litres.

Furthermore, this newly launched car gets a new dual-tone four-spoke multifunction steering wheel with an illuminated logo. The cabin also has a multi-colour mood light feature that gives a premium feel.

On the safety front, the Tata Safari facelift gets a five-star GNCAP safety rating that gives confidence for occupants’ protection. It also includes seven airbags including a knee airbag, a 360-degree surround view system, and an advanced electronic stability program. The ESP comes with seventeen functionalities, to ensure safety at every corner. Besides, it gets an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold feature, a hill hold control, and several ADAS features. Moreover, its robust and reliable structure adds extra cushion to the safety of the car occupants.

This Tata SUV is sold in six variants and each comes with slightly different features. The names of the variants are Smart, Pure, Adventure, Adventure Plus A, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus. The colour options available for this car are Cosmic Gold, Oberon Black, Glacier Sapphire, Stardust Ash, Stellar Frost, Supernova Copper, and Lunar Slate.
