Tata Punch EV Engine, Specifications, and Performance

This electric car is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor placed at the front axle. It draws power from a 35kWh lithium-ion battery which is placed under the floor pan. This powertrain setup generates a peak power and torque of 120bhp and 190 Nm, leading to a notable performance. These deliveries are transmitted to the front wheel through a single-speed automatic gearbox.

The carmaker also offers a variant with a smaller battery pack of 25kWh with a riding range of 315 km. This variant achieves an acceleration of 0-100 km/h within 13.5 seconds. On the other hand, the 35kWh variant offers a range of around 421 km. it achieves a 0-100 km/h sprint in 9.5 seconds, as claimed by the manufacturer.

This Tata electric car ensures a comfortable ride with its well-tuned suspension system, which absorbs bumps adeptly. It includes an independent, lower wishbone, McPherson Strut with coil spring in the front. The rear suspension is a semi-independent twist beam with coil spring and shock absorber. The car rides on 16-inch wheels sporting 195mm wide tyres; a few variants get 15-inch wheels with 185mm wide tyres. The braking setup incorporates front discs and rear drum brakes in shorter-range variants. The long-range variants are provided with all disc brakes, leading to precise stopping power. Additionally, the regenerative braking system is also there in this electric car. It enhances efficiency by converting kinetic energy back into electrical energy during braking, ultimately extending the car's range.

Dimensionally, the Tata Punch EV is 3857mm long and 1742mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2445mm. Its ground clearance is 190mm and its overall height is 1633mm. Besides, the car comes with a boot capacity of 366 litres.

This Electric hatchback comes with a dynamic and sporty exterior design, catching the attention of onlookers. It boasts sleek lines and stylish LED headlights with connected daytime running lights and blinkers. The lower end of the front bumper showcases a grille-like design, making a bold statement on the roads.

The EV features a contrasting roof and black side cladding. The wheel has a unique flowery design that looks captivating. Furthermore, it exhibits roof rails, bold LED tail lamps, and wheel arches, among other exterior features and elements.

The cabin of this electric car is modern and spacious. It is thoughtfully designed, featuring premium materials and comfortable seating. The dashboard houses a 10.24-inch intuitive infotainment system that keeps you connected and entertained on your journeys. The instrument cluster is a 7-inch and provides all essential information to the driver.

The Tata Punch EV interior includes mood lighting, an electric sunroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a Jewelled Control knob. It also boasts automatic temperature control, an air purifier, a wireless smartphone charger, and three drive modes, among others.

Tata Punch EV Safety Features

In terms of safety, this car has six airbags to protect occupants in case of a collision. The sturdy build and reinforced chassis ensure robust passenger protection. Furthermore, this EV gets an electronic stability program, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts to offer enhanced safety. Moreover, it features a hill hold assist, rear parking sensor, hill descent control, and a 360° surround-view camera system.

The manufacturer sells this car in two main variants and several sub-variants, making a total of 20 variants. Each Variant comes with slightly different offerings. The available shades for this EV are Empowered Oxide Dual Tone, Seaweed Dual Tone, Daytona Grey Dual Tone, Fearless Red Dual Tone, and Pristine White Dual Tone.
