Rolls-Royce Reveals California-inspired, One-off Spectre Semaphore Ahead of 2024 Monterey Car Week Debut
Like most custom builds, the Rolls-Royce Spectre's foundation is still in place. A 120kWh battery pack powers the all-electric drivetrain, which generates 569bhp of maximum power and 895Nm of peak torque.
Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Spectre Semaphore, a special one-of-a-kind creation that will make its public debut on August 16 at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California. As is customary for Rolls-Royce, buyers can personalise their models with an extensive range of choices, and the most recent model is no exception. It is a limited edition EV with a distinctive hood painting and custom paint job. The Bespoke Semaphore Yellow colour of the bodywork is where the car gets its name. But the "Marbled Paint Spill" hood is the most striking feature. The artwork is referred to by the company as an “abstract tribute to the Golden State and its diverse environment,” with the "informal elegance of coastal California", serving as its inspiration. According to the British manufacturer, this custom design, based on the all-electric Spectre, demonstrates how the brand's younger, bolder customer base is changing their perception of what luxury looks like.
Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore: Exterior
One might guess that the person who built this unique Bespoke construct lives in the Golden State, most likely someplace close to the coast, given the artwork's design is intended to evoke the Californian coast and its varied surroundings, which include sunshine and silver mountain tops. Nonetheless, Rolls-Royce claims that any buyer worldwide can buy the unique Semaphore. The finish, which has several coats of paint for richness and depth, is similar to previous Rollers, and will undoubtedly look amazing in the Monterey sunshine later this month. The design, development, and manufacturing of the hood alone took 160 hours.
Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore: Interior
When you open the rear-hinged doors, you'll notice a plaque on the sill noting that the Semaphore was specifically designed for this year's Pebble Beach show at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The yellow theme continues with somewhat varied Lemon Yellow and Citrine Yellow tones, designed by the Bespoke team. Yellow appears on the dials of the digital instrument cluster, however, there is some contrast provided by Grace White and Slate Grey surfaces. Additionally, the wood has been painted; in this case, Cashmere grey paint has been blended with silver mica flakes to complement the grey material.
Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore: Engine Options
Like the majority of custom builds, the Rolls-Royce Spectre's foundation is still in place. A 120kWh battery pack powers the all-electric drivetrain, which generates 569bhp of maximum power and 895Nm of peak torque. The Spectre's other technical specs include an electric range of 468 km on a single charge and a power consumption rate of 2.6–2.8mi/kWh. Moreover, zero CO2 emissions are in line with current sustainability requirements.

Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore Debut
As part of 2024 Monterey Car Week in California, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering will host an exhibition of the Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore on August 16. The automaker withheld pricing information, as with most custom Rolls Royces; however, it is reasonable to surmise that the Semaphore has significantly bumped up the Spectre's price.
