I have a Levante Grand Lusso. It is the 3ltr twin turbo producing 424 hp. It has 6 drive modes and 5 ride heights and is a comfortable and very capable cocoon of mobile luxury in the most adverse climatic conditions. I live in a mountain town in the Canadian Rockies and my Levante has proven to be a very dependable vehicle plus an absolute joy to drive. Gone are the anxieties of envy that I used to have when viewing an auto that I lusted for because now I own one....big grin!

VW T ROC

VW TROC, was delivered on 10th MAy 2020 by PPS MOTORS SP Road, Secunderabad. The dealers were very pleasing and quite helping with all the initial work. The car, as expected is quite thrilling and a charm. I went for the Pearl Black colour and it looks great. In terms of performance, true to the name , it rocks as it hits the highway! ( leaving out all those technical specifications about the 7 speed DSG, as reviews are available all over the internet) However some disappointments are there in terms of the increased price this year with out much alterations. The bare minimum accessories they provide for a rocket price of 20000/- ( just mud flaps and four mats) and the absence of CD Player ( maynot be needed in this age of android auto, ) and Card reader this time, and even the complimentary Portable Air Compressor the last years buyers received come as disappointments. The VW Voice Command is not activated and I was told by some representative from the dealers end that it requires some extra payment. Further, I was also told that the lane assist function does not exist in 2021 model, as it is not useful in the Indian conditions. The car is a little dainty and one should go for it if Space is not your concern and also if you are willing to pay that extra premium for the thrill of driving

I am using ciaz 1.5 model 2019.. I have driven about 30,000 km, within this kms I change my brake pad and the rotor for three times. The company itself says manufacturing defect.. for Ciaz i am getting only the lifespan of 10,000 kms in braking system, meanwhile I am using xylo, innova, brezza,swift.. they don't have such problems.. they are getting more than 40,000 kms.. the ciaz on road price is 13 lakh.. worthless for this amount.. can't afford low quality product.. it's a black mark maruthi.. not at all satisfied with ciaz.. so please don't buy by this car..

I must say, the Tata Tiago EV is a great car. Does not feel safe

Doors and other panels feel very light, sound hollow and thin if you knock on them. Raises safety concern and how it will perform in case of an accident. Making the car too lightweight has also reduced stability at higher speeds.

Practical daily runabout

I’ve been really happy with my ertiga ever since I got one in 2014. The car is very versatile, while still being perfectly maneuverable in city traffic. The performance is of ertiga is very good. There is enough room at the back to accommodate luggage for road trips, but the last row of seats is not all that comfortable for adults. Best of all, it is very easy on the pocket. It easily gives me around 12-13 kml in city and around 20 on highway. Service and maintenance costs are nominal too. Overall, and very good buy.

Compact dimensions with good space

I like my xcent quite a lot because it comes loaded with features and has very good boot space. It has been totally worthwhile for me to spend extra cash on Xcent over the Grand i10, as the extra boot space has come in handy on multiple occasions. I have the kappa petrol model and it is quite refined and frugal. My family and friends really appreciate the xcent’s high interior quality, which makes it feel expensive than what it really is.

Spacious, fast and luxurious

Having owned the old Innova for around 6 years, it was obvious for me to upgrade to the cysta once it was launched. It is a worthy upgrade from the older model as it offers all the space and flexibility but has a lot more power and features. Driving on 130-140 on highway is never a problem with the new diesel engine, as it feels substantially more powerful than the old model. It is expensive but very luxurious too.

Perfect for local use. A bit expensive to maintain.

I’ve bought this as my second car to accompany my vento and my experience with the car has been quite positive. The size of this is perfect for driving in a city like mumbai where traffic is terrible and finding a decent parking spot is a chore. It drives quite well. However, Hyundai must check its servicing costs. You would end up paying a lot more for getting the Grand i10 serviced as compared to a Maruti car.

Noisy engine

Don't know why this aluminium engine is so noisy. Very surprising for such a brand to make such engines. I would never buy this vehicle for this one reason only.

A more practical i20

Originally I wanted to buy the elite model but when I went to the showroom and saw the display car I was pretty happy with the additional ground clearance the active model offered. Roads in my city are not great, and additional ground clearance is always welcome to help avoid potholes and those crazy speed breakers. It is not a high riding SUV, but it definitely combines everything good about the regular i20 with better clearance.

Bold and rugged, but has its issues

For a proper SUV, the Storme covers all the basics like butch presence, commanding view of the road and torquey motor. It also is a fantastic highway cruiser. However, rattling and squeaking noises in a 2 year old car is just not acceptable. Tata’s service quality is still pretty mediocre, the employees struggle to iron out the minor issues I ask them to check. This car costed me more than 16 lakhs on road and for that price, you expect better reliability.

Used to be great, but the upgrade has ruined it

I used to love my Vento diesel to the core when I bought it. However, then the dieselgate things happened and everything changed. They called me for an emissions fix back in 2016. I don't know how much of emissions they fixed, but they did mess up the engine response with the upgrade. No longer does the car feels are lively and fast as it used to be when I got it. The car does everything else pretty nicely but I feel cheated as I got the Vento for its performance, which is now compromised.

Quick and very easy to drive

The car has been doing great in its past 2.5 year ownership with me. People recommended me against buying a Ford due to bad servicing but personally I haven't had any issue with the after sales. The Aspire diesel is very powerful and a great highway cruiser. I usually get around 23 kmpl on highway drives which is brilliant. I wish they offered a touchscreen stereo on this though.

Basic but tough and durable

Primarily our Bolero is used for driving us on the bad countryside roads, and it does it quite well actually. I know one can get a lot better SUVs for the price of Bolero, but they are not true SUVs afterall. The Bolero is super sturdy and durable, and best of all can be serviced anywhere. Even a local garage mechanic will have no problem to fix it without any issues. Obviously, it is very crude, but if you have a purpose then it serves very well.

Better buy the TUV

I really like how the NuvoSport looks but that is where it end. The interiors are very Xylo like and are a major let down. The car is OK to drive but nothing special. I’ve tried to keep its very maintained but it still rattles in certain parts i don't know why. The reason I chose this over the TUV was because of its futuristic front design, but guess falling for only the design wasn’t the best decision. A fellow friend who bought the TUV300 just 2 months before i bought this, is much more happier with his purchase than I am.

Space is not good

Company claims the old car is bigger than the old one but inside the space is same as before. Back seat can only fit 2 adults max. Boot is wide but small, compared to other hatchbacks in the market.

Spacious and easy on pocket

Its been almost 4 years since the Amaze has been serving my family very well. There is enough room for four adults and a child, while the trunk can (mostly) accommodate our luggage with ease. Average is around 15 kml in city and 22 plus kml on highway which makes the amaze a champion. Its is also every fast and easy to drive but the engine is a little noisy which can be certainly improved by honda.

Disaster!

Just 8 months after I got the Ameo TDI automatic, the car started losing power to the point it became unusable. It took the VW service centre guys 2 full weeks to figure out what the problem actually was. After two weeks they claim that the auto gearbox has failed and need to be replaced. Another week down the line to fixing the car. Atleast the company is bearing the cost.

Comfortable but people will think its a taxi

I used a Scorpio from 2007 - 2015 previously, so when my family demanded a more spacious car, I opted for xylo given that my experience with scorpio was very good. It has a lot of space and ride is excellent but everything else is pretty downmarket, and the car rattes almost consistently. Plus the Xylo is so popular in taxi market that most will confuse your private vehicle for a taxi. Overall it's a decent car but I’d still say you can do better with your money.

Ideal city SUV

Spoilt for choice, I was quite confused which SUV to opt for but I finally went ahead with the Hyundai Creta. It is the only SUV that comes fully loaded with comfort, smart and safety features. There is absolutely no compromise. Even though, I was thinking of purchasing the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, but I felt the Creta’s build and cabin plastic quality were far more superior. The Creta is one very solid build SUV.

Spacious rear seat

The new i20 is a big improvement of the old car as it uses the space in a much better manner. The new car has improved rear space and even the legroom is noticeably more. Comfortable car for any type of long journey.

Dealers need to be more customer friendly

For a couple months, I did my recce and met with many different Hyundai dealers before finalising on the Creta. Sadly, my experience was not a very happy one as the dealers were quite obnoxious and were shamelessly trying to make a buck at my expense. When I wanted to get leather wrapped around the steering wheel and the gear lever, the dealers flatly said no this wasn’t possible or I had to get leather upholstery as well, which costs a bomb. Also in case of accessories, many dealers insisted I buy bull bars, which has now become illegal. Of course, dealers can mention what accessories to buy, after all that’s where they make their money, but to blackmail you into it is just not done. I did buy the Creta because it is one of the best SUVs around, but the dealers need to be more transparent and customer friendly.

Hassel-free servicing

I recently got my Creta serviced for the second time and I’m delighted to say that it was quite a trouble free experience. My car was attended even before the given the time and it was thoroughly checked at my presence. What was even more surprising was that the servicing was completed an hour early. A lot of emphasis is put in customer feedback. After I inspected my SUV after the servicing, I had to fill up a feedback form and after a week or so they called up to check how the SUV is behaving. Great going Hyundai, keep up the good work.

Luxury at your service

I’m a very proud Hyundai Creta as it gets one of the best cabins in its segment. It is not only spacious from the inside, but it has a very responsive touchscreen infotainment system. Also, the speakers and tweeters provide crystal clear sound, while the Arkamys sound mood creates excellent surround sound. But there were a couple features I wish the Creta came with like automatic headlamps and also automatic central locking system. Apart from this, the cabin certainly feels rich and the seats are also very supportive and comfortable.

Power packed

For long distance or for everyday drives, the Creta is simply magnificent. It has one of the most powerful diesel 1.6-litre engine in this price range and I simply love the acceleration it provides. The 126bhp engine responds instantly and remains quite silent at the same time. This SUV is for those who love driving their own vehicle. Even the ride quality is comfortable as it easily goes over ditches without any bone jarring thuds. I love driving the Creta as its an amazing machine.

Excellent buy

Brought this wayback in 2012 when it was just launched. I had to extend my budget to even buy the base 85PS RXE model but it has been a wonderful journey with this car. Both me and my wife just love driving our duster. The engine is powerful and pick up is very nice. It gives a good view of the road ahead due to raised driving position and s a great companion for broken roads. Despite of being more than 5 years old, the Duster still looks very handsome on road!!

Clutch is very heavy

Duster is a fine car overall with its tough character but mind you, it can prove to be a real pain in long traffic jams as the heavy clutch can give you knee pains. When I test drove it before buying, I found the clutch acceptable, and it was when the car was new. However, over the years it has worsen and now traffic jams scare me. Service centre has a temporary fix for this problem but it does not last very long.

Poor build quality

I am using Duster SUV from year 2014 and the car has been full of quality issues ever since i bought one. The AC knob is of terrible quality and very often gives up altogether. I have had it replaced four times, but still i keep facing the same issue after some time. Then there's the door lock that does not operate properly. There was a time when i could not open the door from inside and i had to roll the window down to pull the handle from outside! The lock also has been replaced 3 times. Now, the front seat also squeaks constantly. I appreciate this SUV for its power and looks but all these issues have just spoilt my ownership experience!

AMT version is very troublesome

Got the Duster AMT thinking it would take make my life easier in Bangalore’s disastrous traffic, however this renault car has proven to be below my expectation. It vibrates very abnormally during heavy traffic, gearshifts are very jerky and there are weird noises coming from transmission every now and then. Renault guys have no idea why these things happen, and some technicians even tell me that all those noises and vibrations are normal! Very unimpressed given the fact that the car has costed me around 13 lacs on road.

Can’t do any better

I’ve driven my Duster for around 40000km and I believe it is a perfect SUV in every aspect. It is very stable on highways and can do 140kmph super easily. It also commands respect on the road due to its butch design and cars automatically would give you way if they see this beast coming at them. Inside the space is very good, and the suspension is brilliant. Bad Indian roads cannot touch this car and it would tackle those roads with ease. Me and my friend got our Duster together and both us love it very much.

Practical family car

This has been a perfect choice for my family of 6. Drives very well and easily gives around 20km/l of mileage. It feels premium also, however, some minor rattling issues have prevailed from time to time. The last row of seats are perfect even for adults as there is enough space. Maintenance of the car has been very pocket friendly, it is a Maruti after all.

Very practical and spacious

I have used hatchbacks all my life and I am happy to report that this is the first one in which one does not feel like they are sitting in a hatchback. It just has so much space to offer, especially on the rear seat. The boot space is also decent and the car itself is nice to drive. The only thing that becomes a problem is the low fuel efficiency. One needs a lot of restraint to achieve good mileage from this car.

Great car ruined by the ‘CAB’ image

I own a 2015 model white coloured Maruti Ertiga, which has been a fantastic car to own. However, white Ertigas are aplenty in the taxi market, so many ubers, ola and even private taxis are white/silver Ertigas. It kind of hurts the image of the vehicle. There have been instances where I’ve been on a vacation to some hill station in Himachal and cops have stopped me suspecting the car is being used as a non licensed taxi. This is something i genuinely dislike. So ya, if you are buying one, make sure you go for some colour that cabbies do not prefer!

Ertiga petrol is not a good performer

Better go for the diesel model if you want to buy Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. My 2016 ZXi Ertiga petrol is a decent car comfort wise, but the engine badly needs more power. WIth 5 people (along with luggage), the pick up suffers a lot and the mileage drops too. Overtaking with full load is not a very pleasant affair on single lane highways. Also, when loaded, mileage drops to around 11km/l. So yes, if you want a petrol engine, better buy some sedan or buy the Ertiga diesel instead.

Maruti always the best

Just completed 1 lakh km on our Ertiga and it has been a superb car all these four years. It has been troule free despite the high monthly km we put on it. Despite bad local roads it refuses to break. That is the Maruti Suzuki reliability you see. Before Ertiga, we had dzire and even it remained mostly trouble free throughout the time we had it. Highly recommended.

SHVS ertiga good buy

I am SHVS VDI ertiga owner and the mileage of the car is very nice. Can fit 7 people in the car with ease, but please make sure that the last seats can only be used by adults over short journeys. No major problems faced so far. SHVS engine is good performer, good pickup and super mileage.

Go for manual

After driving 20,000kms with the new Dzire diesel AMT, I would not recommend the automatic to people who are looking for ease of use as the gearbox is not smooth as other AT options offered by Hyundai or Volkswagen. While overall the car is good, but the automatic gearbox does get frustrating as it is slow and jerky. Overtaking on the highway requires prior planning as the gearbox takes a while to respond and upshifts from third to fifth too quickly which is not good for acceleration. I have driven my friend’s manual version and is much easier to drive as the clutch pedal is also light.

Value for money

The new Dzire is complete value for money, it has so much space inside and in the boot. The quality feels very luxurious and comes with so many features. The auto LED lights are very bright and powerful, works very well at nigh especially when there are no street lights. The seats are very comfortable for the front and rear passengers. Also the boot is of very spacious and is very helpful for long journeys but for long duration trips, its not ideal. Also the diesel engine is very efficient as I am getting 22km/l in mileage. I’m very satisfied with my purchase at the moment.

Touchscreen is very easy

I currently own the top of the line Dzire diesel which comes with Maruti’s Smartplay infotainment touchscreen system. The system interface is very easy to use, but is a little slow and sometimes becomes difficult to see when there is glare. I use apple car play regularly with my iPhone, but sometimes even when the car is charging my phone via USB, the car does not recognise my phone and it does not show the CarPlay option automatically as it should. I have to turn the car off completely and re start the car. it works sometimes, but sometimes that also does not help. But overall, even with the voice command which is optimised for India, it is the best system by far in comparison to other manufacturers.

interior panels falling apart

The plastic quality overall in the Dzire is decent, but a couple of panels in my car have already come loose in just 4 months of ownership. The build quality is where Maruti needs to work on. But on the other hand, the car comes with so many features as I have the top of the line ZDi+ with android auto as well. The system works flawlessly, and the touchscreen is very bright and easy to use. I rarely have to take my eyes off the road. I just wish it came in black exterior colour.

Very fuel efficient

I drive the Dzire diesel automatic and in the city I am getting around 19km/l and I am satisfied. The gearbox is a bit jerky and slow, unlike the smooth DSG in my other Polo GT TSI. I opted for the Dzire because I needed something with space and would be comfortable for the rear passengers and the Dzire fulfilled that and delivers very good economy. I haven’t driven it on the highway as yet, so im not sure how much more efficient it is on the highway.

No Regrets

I was looking for a car around the 8 lakh mark. Then I decided to get the Ignis diesel automatic, but the Zeta trim. I would have liked to have the touchscreen entertainment system, but the 2-DIN system works fine. Didn’t seem justifiable to spend any more just for that and the LED lights. But im happy with the product as a whole. Lots of room inside and the automatic makes driving in the city very comfortable.

Flimsy Plastics

The cars look’s good no doubt, but the interior build quality and the materials seem very flimsy and badly put together. However, when it comes to features the Ignis comes loaded with everything I wanted. The car is very nimble and you can feel its very light, I just wish the engine had more power.

Good city runabout

I have been driving my Urban Blue Ignis for the last three months. The diesel engine has quite a lot of grunt for the city, but the automatic gearbox could be refined further. Its quite jerky especially in cold temperatures. But the fuel economy is very good which makes it easy on the pocket to drive around the city in daily traffic.

Great Maruti Service Quality

I had taken my Ignis for its regular scheduled service, but I was hesitant to leave the car at the dealership as there was too much rush at the time. But I decided to pick up the car the next afternoon. Needless to say I was worried over nothing as the NEXA mechanics took very good care of the car. The service simply required oil and filter changes and the workshop had also kept the replacement parts for me to inspect after the service so that I am aware of the replaced parts on my car. Overall I’m highly satisfied with the Nexa Experience.

Cheap materials and uncomfortable to travel for long journeys

The quality of materials Maruti has used with the Ignis are of bad quality and the build quality is also poor. Lots of panel gaps and the materials flex to the touch as well. Other cars in this price, even other Marutis have slightly better quality materials. Also the seats are very soft, but for suitable for long journeys. Especially the rear seats as they are very upright. International model gets 2-way adjustable for the rear seats, Maruti should have given that option with the Ignis to Indian customers also as they are claiming it’s a premium product.

My third Hyundai

The Grand i10 is the third Hyundai I have purchased. I own a Creta and my first car was the Santro. I needed a smaller second car and I knew it had to be a Hyundai which is why I opted for the Grand i10. The is perfect in size for the city and like all Hyundai comes feature loaded. I got the top of the line diesel so it comes fully equipped with all the latest features. The three cylinder diesel engine does make some noise, but its alright as not much of the noise and vibrations can be sensed while driving.

Good build quality

Hyundai Grand i10 build quality is so much superior than Maruti. The plastic panels feel so much better and the build quality is very good. The touchscreen system is also very good and I love using my Samsung mobile with android auto as it makes driving so much easier as I don’t have to take my eyes of the road. the voice command is not very helpful, but it works decent. Also, I just fell in love with the Grand i10 when it saw it in the Marina Blue colour as it looks very nice.

Good Looks

The Grand i10 looks very good and is very spacious for its size and price. The petrol engine is very smooth but the steering is way too soft. Even after turning the wheel, you never know which side the wheels are pointing. However, the seats are comfortable and there is enough leg and headroom at the front and back, but not good for more than three people on long journeys. Features offered are good, but I didn’t like any of the accessories the dealer was offering me, and thankfully I kept the car factory stock. It looks much better that way.

Value for money

For the highway and high speeds, there are other alternatives in the market which I feel would perform better. The Grand i10 in my opinion is more city oriented and at the price point, it seems like the best option. The engine doesn’t have much response in the top end s you have to change gear to maintain momentum, especially in higher gears. But as for fuel economy, I am getting around 14-15kmpl.

Overpriced Service

I bought the Grand i10 and it is my first car. While nothing is wrong with the product, but after sales service is very poor and very expensive. I am not happy with the servicing of my car as I can now sense vibrations after it has come back from the work shop. Now I will take my car to a local workshop where it will be cheaper. Parts at Hyundai workshop is too expensive, getting the same part else where for much less.

Fuel Economy is a bit disappointing

The Kwid is a stylish car for city use but it definitely is not the most fuel efficient one around. The 800cc engine itself is very mediocre. It is buzzy and the pick up of the car isn’t all that effortless. I get around 13km/l in city and around 18-19 on highway, which is not bad, but u expect a lot more from a 800cc car!

Some basic features missing

While Renault has focused on providing hyped features like touchscreen navigation system on this car, they forgot some bare basics ...like internally adjustable outside mirrors! WHile test driving the car, I did not even bother to check this out since its something we take for granted now a days. After buying the top end trim, I was surprised to learn that to adjust outside mirrors, you have to move the mirror manually like it used to happen on Maruti 800! Like seriously Renault?

Stylish car with very convenient AMT option

The reason I got Kwid was because it stands out among affordable cars. The interior is also quite stylish and feels like a class above. I was one of the first people to opt for the AMT gearbox option in Indore city when it was newly launched. Since our Kwid is generally driven only in city, it is quite useful as you do not have to depress the clutch in heavy traffic. The auto box is not very smooth, but I still prefer it over constantly using clutch.

Pickup not good, specially with AC on

The 800cc engine is a rather weak performer and is the biggest drawback of this otherwise stylish car. Acceleration is on the weaker side, and turning the AC on takes a massive toll on it. If you suddenly use the AC while in 1st or 2nd gear, the AC load on the engine transfers a minor jolt inside the cabin which is quite disappointing. Mileage is not the best either.

Needs more power

I bought the diesel variant thinking that it will be more speed-friendly and better in feel than the petrol. However, the car is very short on power and feels quite lazy. On the other hand, features like the audio system and navigation app connectivity are very good. There is still much scope for improvement.

Renault service is one of the worst around

There is a constant noise in my AMT Kwid and Renault has failed to address it in spite of sending the car to workshop for 4 times. The gearbox vibrates and squeaks and the car is often prone to losing power while accelerating. I've tried to escalate the problem to the senior Renault management by sending them multiple emails but nothing very convincing has been done on their part either. Not even 3 months since I've got this car and my ownership experience has been ruined already.

King of the highway

If you have a big family and love to travel long distances with them, the new Innova Crysta seems to be the ideal car to do so in. With a spacious cabin and One-Touch middle and third row collapsibility, the car offers a very stable high-speed ride with good levels of cabin sound insulation. The updated car is also pleasing to look at, thanks to the addition of modern touches such as the sleek projector headlamps.

A ‘flawed’ gem

I have always been a fan of the Innova, thanks to its simple, functional looks. With the new car, however, I was expecting that Toyota would work on their Achilles’ heel: Interior quality and feel of the plastics used in the cabin. Despite a marked improvement from the previous car, they still lack a premium feel, when compared to the prices of the new car. Also, the third row of seats does offer decent leg and knee room, but one does have to twist about quite a bit in order to get in and get out of it. Sadly, the levels of refinement have not been as per the expectations.

Defying all obstacles

I have been using the Innova Crysta for nearly 6 months now and I am happy to report that the car has not given me any reason to complain yet. Backed by Toyota’s renowned build quality and reliability, the updated car is much more appealing to the younger generation now, thanks to the stylistic additions of the twin projector headlamps, which provide excellent illumination and the option of larger, 17-inch alloy wheels. Overall, the car is stylish without losing out on its practicality, evident from the generous interior storage areas and Captain seats in the second row.

Ideal for school run

Being a mother of 3 young kids, I always look for a car which fares well in safety, as I have to drop and pick up my kids from school every day. Buying the Innova Crysta has been an exceptional decision as it provides the desired levels of strength and safety, thanks to its 4-star ASEAN NCAP rating along with other safety features such as airbags, ABS and EBD as standard across all variants. My only concern is the fact that people with shorter height will have visibility issues due to the high placement of the dashboard.

Lack of a 4WD option

The Innova Crysta is indeed a very capable car. However, the missing 4WD option does not allow the drivetrain to perform at its maximum potential. I did face some issues with the car when driving on snow-covered roads on a holiday which would have been taken care of if the car had 4WD. In city conditions, however, the car is an absolute breeze to drive and strikes a good balance between power and refinement. A special mention to the suspension which can absorb nearly every kind of speed bump or pothole with ease.

So ugly!

The Alto K10 fits my budget and I feel it is a great car all around. Just that its too ugly from the outside, when will Maruti take out a new and better looking K10? I have the money but can’t bring myself to buy this car. And there is no alternative really.

Fantastic car, Maruti needs to make more cars like this

I totally agree that the K10 is a great car. A perfect pocket rocket. Great performance and efficiency. I have had my car for 5 years and it is absolutely reliable and problem free. I live in the hills and conditions can get demanding, but the K10 soldiers on without any fuss. Maruti needs to make great small cars like this and the Zen once again!

Needs work

Tyres and brakes are not good compared to the speeds the car can reach. My advice to Alto owners is to get new tyres immediately as they have no grip on wet roads as well.

Perfect city car

I bought the Ignis soon after its launch and I’ am very happy with my choice. It grabs attention everywhere I go thanks to its unique shape. But the LED headlights in this top end model are also a major attraction, giving it an unmistakeable appearance. I have the petrol model and I love driving it as the pickup is very good and changing gears is very satisfying. The steering is also very light and I can move my way around slower cars very easily. I just wish the dashboard and door plastic quality was superior as it feels like a Maruti 800’s right now.

Great car but low quality engine

I bought AMT petrol Ignis. But at that time, it was not available in the top-end model so my car does not have the nice headlamps and the touchscreen system. This is quite a disappointment as now it is available in top end model also. Otherwise the car is very nice to drive and extremely fuel efficient with 16.5 km/l in the city. I have not taken it on the highway. Over time I have mastered the AMT gearbox and it is very nice to use in automatic mode. But I fear this might not last long, as whenever I start the car after like 7-10 days gap, it shudders and shakes violently till it warms up. This happens for a few days until the car is used regularly. I have never faced this problem in a petrol car! I fear that in the quest for better fuel efficiency, Maruti has sacrificed the quality of its petrol engines which always used to be the best earlier.

Excellent city car

Despite being a big car, it feels so light and effortless to drive. Easy to manage in traffic and decent power for open stretches as well. Interiors are also very good and feel upmarket.

Poor engine

Hi Rohin, I have faced the same problem with my Ignis. After prolonged times of sitting in the garage, the car is very shaky while starting. And the problem persists for a couple of days. It then disappears after regular use. I am wondering the same thing, about how long this engine will last before it goes bad. I really like the car otherwise. The engine is also very nice to drive. But I fear it will go bad after warranty and then I will have to shell out a huge bill over engine repair. I intend to sell the car in a few years’ time as this is a low quality product and I don’t know what else will go wrong. People, do not buy Maruti petrol cars….

Excellent city car

I love my Ignis diesel. It is so nice to drive, engine has good performance and is extremely fuel efficient. But what I love most of all is that it is very good to look at. All my friends are interested in the car. All the many features of the car are great too. I especially love the voice commands. It is so easy to play a song or make a phone call to somebody. It is a true blessing! The navigation screen is also very good. The car is also just so easy to drive that I would have to say that the Ignis is a must have car for our cities.

Good mechanicals, horrible quality otherwise.

I bought the Ignis diesel and am quite happy with the car in terms of space, features, performance and mileage. A very pleasant car to drive overall. What makes it not so pleasant is the poor quality plastic dashboard and door interior. And the seats are just appalling. They just sink in and have no comfort whatsoever. The sides of the front seats are bendable! Horrible. Only if this car had better interiors, it would be the perfect city car.

Highly recommended!

This car is excellent for Maruti fans. It offers style and features with value for money. It has good ground clearance despite being a hatchback and the boot is also spacious. My diesel car gives 18-19 kmpl economy in city, which is appreciable. Also, the Nexa dealership experience was quite good. Will definitely buy my next vehicle from there as well.

Smart, functional

As a newly-trained driver, I need a car which has easy to use features so that I do not get distracted by operating them while driving. This is what the Baleno offers me. All interior functions and features are easy to use and effective. What I don’t like about the car is that it has less power which results in constant gear changes. Also, lack of rear AC vents often becomes a source of complaint by the rear seat passengers.

Using the boot is painful

The car is good for city use and fun to drive on empty roads. I travel a lot so I need a spacious boot, which is there in the Baleno. But, loading the trunk and unloading is quite straining because of the floor being too low.

A Refined machine

The Baleno is a very refined car from Maruti and I like it a lot. It tackles the issues faced by many hatchback users with ease, such as low ground clearance, poor visibility from the interior, small boot and most importantly, lack of space. In fact, the Baleno is more spacious than most of its rivals. All of this, coupled with a decent audio system and good cabin insulation makes the car very comfortable for daily use.

Too hyped

I’m afraid the product does not live up to its reputation in the market. My car is only a few months old and already the front right door hinge is creaking. Besides this, the touchscreen is slow to respond and the car lacks power in general. The only good thing – the car is economical. For someone who ranks economy higher than quality or fit & finish, the car will be fine.

Decent package overall

Automatic gears are always convenient to use and make driving hassle-free. However, if Renault can give AMT in mid-variant, then other basic features such as front power windows and trip computer should also be there. Other than this flaw, the car drives nicely and the suspension is quite good at absorbing bumps. Fuel economy is decent for an automatic.

Average car

AMT is the only good feature on my car. Other things are very basic, based on the cost of the car. I do wish there were some more driver-friendly features in top variant. Much scope for improvement.

Visually appealing

The Climber edition has a lot of orange accents which make the car very lively and striking to look at. Also, since it is fully-loaded it also feels premium, thanks to the touchscreen info system which is very nice to use. The navigation feature makes life much easier as I do not have to use my phone constantly to look at maps. AMT knob is also a nice, premium touch. Highly recommended.

Simple but effective

My car has been doing very well since I bought it a few months ago. It has a good size boot which makes travel with family quite easy. Interior storage spaces are also nicely placed. Instrument cluster is clear and easy to read, making it convenient for my old parents to use the car as well. It also offers good ground clearance which is hard to find in modern hatchbacks. A very reasonable car to buy.

Not so good

There was no 1.0 litre engine option when I purchased my car so I am stuck with the 800cc engine. The engine produces quite a lot of vibration on idle and the sound is not pleasing to hear. If you drive aggressively then the fuel economy also takes a hit as the car lacks punch, making overtaking and highway journeys difficult. Also, the tyres provide no grip on wet roads and the car feels very unstable under heavy braking. The car lacks refinement in many areas. Hope the new 1.0 litre car does not have these flaws.

Look and feel is quite cheap

Interior quality, like the plastic used on the dashboard and doors is very hard and feels very cheap, it does not compare with the interior quality of brands like Maruti. Also, during the monsoon season, the wiper does not help much as it covers a very small area of the windshield and no rear wiper makes it even worse to drive the car when it is raining. Safety features such as ABS and airbags also missing. Not a well-packaged car at all.

Good after sales provisions

I purchased my car recently so I was able to get a 4-year warranty instead of the standard 2-year warranty along with the road-side assistance package, which makes ownership a lot easier. The dealer network does need some work as it is still in its growing stage but the overall experience was nice. I have not driven my car a lot till now but all the features that I have been able to use till now, like instrument cluster, have been good. Let’s hope the car performs beyond my expectations.

Not meant for high speeds

The car has a dual character. As easy and convenient it is to use in city traffic, on highways or high-speed stretches, it is equally bad. To make the car economical, Renault has made it very light which has resulted in it being terrible at high-speeds. The engine feels strained when pushed, stability is almost completely absent at high speed and the numb steering further reduces any bit of confidence left in the driver. It looks like I will have to buy another car for highway use and keep this one for city ambling only.

False promises

The company claims the Kwid is designed to look like a crossover while being a hatchback. However, their efforts have remained only on the outside. Inside, the cabin does not feel too airy and rear leg room is an issue. The seats merely compensate for it by being decently comfortable. Also, despite having small proportions, it needs a lot of space to do a U-turn in.

Good value for money

This car is really good value for money as it offers good quality interiors which are spacious and comfortable. It is good for both city driving and highway trips as it is stable at high speeds and light to use in heavy traffic. In terms of mileage, the car has performed as expected – giving 18-19 kmpl in city and 25 kmpl on highways. It has been a good purchase overall.

Not very economical

I was very surprised to see the fuel efficiency figures after a few months of use. Tata had made exceptional claims about the Tiago achieving very good fuel efficiency figures even with the automatic gears but as it turns out, it is not true, for petrol at least. However, the engine is quite refined and smooth. Power is sufficient to provide a satisfactory drive.

Software glitches

I purchased the car about 4 months ago and ever since the car was new, it has been facing software issues. In one instance, the engine warning light came on unexpectedly which was resolved by a visit to the company workshop. Another issue which I face on a regular basis is the ‘distance to empty’ reading giving erratic figures. From showing 60 kms to empty it suddenly jumps to ‘refuel’, which is supposed to come only after the range goes below 25 km. I have to switch the car on and off at least 2-3 times to bring it back to normal. Keeping these issues aside, the car is quite good to drive and the seats are comfortable making long journeys easy.

Great car!

Ever since I saw its pre-launch video, I knew that Tata had a winner on their hands, and I was right. My car is almost a year old now but it still feels as taut and fresh when it was new. The main highlights for me are the Harman 8-speaker sound system which is among the best sound systems in a car of this price, the premium interiors (which were a major issue in earlier Tata cars) and a quiet cabin. However, one thing which is not that impressive is the AC blower. It is just too loud on higher fan speeds and does not give out enough air when compared to loudness it throws on you. A small price to pay for an overall well-built car.

Rough vibrations

The new K10 engines are not very durable as after 2 years of use, the engine has become quite rough to use. Not suitable for harsh driving conditions.

Lacks refinement

Tata has certainly reached a new level with their new generation of cars, but they still lack refinement when compared to other brands. Some flaws which immediately caught my attention were the weak headlights, one has to constantly use the high beam on poorly lit stretches to get the basic amount of light needed. Besides this, there is significant vibration in the gear lever when the car is at idle and lastly, the steering has no grip. As a result, dry hands keep slipping off the steering wheel when making one-handed turns. It may seem that I am picking up negligible flaws but in the long run, they do tend to become quite annoying.

Automatic gears are good

My friends always tell me that Maruti makes the best AMT cars in the executive car segment but I was able to make them reconsider, thanks to my Tiago. It is certainly not the best but it does make a strong case for itself and is at par with Maruti in my opinion. The gear changes are smooth and but there are a few unpleasant jerky movements.

Major improvement from Indica

I have been a loyal customer of Tata and have also owned the Indica. Now, after driving the Tiago, I can really see how far Tata has come in terms of designing and engineering their cars. This one feels very modern while continuing to be solid and robust. Have been using it for a few months now and it has been nothing but impressive. It’s time Tata should be taken seriously and be considered a worthy player in the market.

Diesel engine harsh and rough after some time

My car is quite comfortable to travel in, even for long distances but the engine has become quite rough after a few days of speedy driving. It seems the engine is built to perform best at city speeds and cannot cope with an aggressive driving style.

Poor build quality

After using the car for a few months, all the doors close like those on an old, worn-out taxi. Even the suspension has developed odd squeaks after a single monsoon season. Not happy as I expect much better from Maruti.

Overpriced

Fitting the car with automatic gears has given Maruti a chance to overprice a car which does not perform as high. Top AMT variant costs above 6 lakh rupees which is too much for the size and features offered. Not so happy with the price I paid for a sub-standard car.

Good value for money

I have always been happy with Maruti vehicles and the story is same with this one. The engine is very refined and the automatic gears are smooth as well, making city driving very easy and comfortable. My car is nearly six months old and it is very much free of any faults. Only issue that I face with the car is that the steering feels very numb, becomes risky when driving at higher speeds on highways but overall, a good small car to buy.

Diesel engine bit noisy

I purchased the diesel variant since I drive a lot each day. Sadly, the experience has been below expectations. The features and interiors of the car are reasonable but the engine has become quite noisy with use. My car has done only 20,000 kms but the engine sounds as if it has been used a lot more, roughly. As a result, the noise also gets into the cabin when driven at higher rpm. My advice for others is to stick to the petrol variants for a better experience.

Easy to drive

I test drove both the petrol and diesel AMT cars and immediately decided to go for the petrol variant as it felt more refined and smooth. The light steering helps a lot in traffic manoeuvres however, the sensitive clutch can be a bit tricky to get used to initially. I had hoped that the Delta variant (within my budget) would have interiors comparable to the car exterior but they seem to be a bit dull. Quirky looks should have matching interiors as well.

Gears changes not smooth

I had heard that Maruti AMT cars are quite good but they still have a lot of ground to cover up. For the high price of the diesel variants, the AMT option is a let down since the gear changes are noticeably jerky. Other features on the car are still pretty good but the plastic inside feels like you are sitting in the most basic car on offer by the company which can be embarrassing if pointed out. Alpha variant is the best option to justify the high cost of diesel variants.

Awesome features

I am quite happy with my car as it has many safety and entertainment features such as ABS, EBD, 6 airbags and a good quality music system. Good value for money overall.

Carefree driving pleasure

My car suits best to my needs as I need to drive through a congested area every day. All controls and pedals are light and easy to use and the decent ground clearance does not let the bumpers scrape anywhere. Also, it is not expensive to maintain and very reliable, thanks to Maruti’s dependability. It strikes a good balance between performance and economy.

Excellent car for busy towns

I purchased my car a few weeks ago and it has been my best one yet. The styling and customization options appeal a lot to me and others my age while it remains reliable and easy to maintain like any other Maruti car. The drive is very smooth and AMT makes it more convenient. However, rear passengers, especially old people, might find the seats uncomfortable during long journeys as they are very upright.

Practical for the price

Being a student, my requirements from a car are very basic. Therefore, buying the base variant was not a bad idea as basic convenience features like AC, front power window and power socket are all there. The car is very economical, giving nearly 22 kmpl when driven with a light foot. Decent interior space and large enough boot for small weekend getaways with friends.

Few chinks in the armour

For someone who drives in a sporty manner, the petrol variant will not disappoint. Exhaust sounds sporty at high rpm while the cabin noise remains at minimum even at high speeds. The only flaws that I found in my car include the steering, which does not centre on its own after completing a turn and some noticeable panel gaps. The car, overall, seems like a good deal for youngsters.

Super performance

I had only heard about XUV500’s capability but I got to experience it myself when I purchased my car a month ago. The drive is excellent with good stability even at high speeds. The mileage, however, can dip quite a lot if driven with a heavy foot.

Good looks

XUV has removed the complaint that people had about the Scorpio – boxy looks. It looks very balanced and the build quality is tough like any Mahindra car. Happy with the features as well.

Low mileage

I have never been able to get good mileage figures from my car no matter how hard I try, and if I go fast with the AC on, the tank gets empty like a thirsty petrol car. I hope the company has improved the mileage of the new upcoming diesel model.

Interiors can still improve

Mahindra is not very famous for quality interiors, and here also the case is same. Plastics used in the cabin are still quite hard and do not have a pleasant feel. On giving further attention to smaller things, some fittings have exposed edges. Switches can also improve.

Terrible GPS navigation

It looks like Mahindra has added features just for the sake of adding them without giving them much thought. The navigation, especially, is very difficult to use and takes much longer than using Google maps on the phone. There is a lot of room…for improvement.

Its 3rd row or the boot space

It is understood that the 3rd row is bound to reduce boot space in any large car. However, in the XUV, the third row finishes the boot space almost completely. It becomes a big problem when the entire family travels with luggage. Had to buy an overhead carrier for the roof.

3rd row lacks space

There is no point in adding a 3rd row of seats if it cannot fit even 2 adults properly. Sadly, it’s the same in the XUV. The 3rd row is too compact and is best suited for young kids.

Plastics feel cheap

Quality of materials is not justified by the prices that Mahindra is now charging for this car. It still feels as if sitting in a car of much lesser value.

Grinding noise in brakes

The brakes on my XUV developed a grinding noise around 10,000 kms. This sort of thing usually happens at a much later stage but it still got the benefit of the doubt, keeping in mind the Indian road conditions. When I got it checked, it turned out that the problem was in the car part and not caused by any outside factor. It was rectified by the workshop at no extra charge.

Multiple component failures

After only two years of ownership, the car started suffering from multiple component failures. It developed cold start issues, faults in the power window motors and the doors became noisy while opening and closing. Despite regularly scheduled maintenance, I had to visit the workshop a few extra times.

Suspension is too hard

The car provides a very stable high-speed drive on the highway but on the contrary, it does not do so well when going over potholes and speed breakers. It's just too hard and harsh when it comes to absorbing bumps.

Good value for money

I have also owned a Scorpio in the past and I am even happier with the XUV. The car feels very premium and it has lots of features which are only found in expensive luxury cars. Overall, the car is not difficult to maintain and the experience has been pleasant.

Excellent mileage

I am very happy with my Diesel hybrid Ciaz. The mileage figures are simply amazing for city use as well, I managed nearly 25 kmpl on my previous tank of fuel. Good job Maruti!

Age-old steering issue

I have used quite a few Maruti cars in the past and all of them had the same issue – numb steering wheel. The Ciaz, unfortunately, also has the same problem. After all these years too, Maruti has not been able to give their cars a decent, responsive steering wheel. Not good.

Doors and panels not durable

Doors do not feel heavy when closing them and knocking on the panels also tells the same story. My car has not been into an accident till now but I am really sceptical about how it will fare in the future.

Glass quality is poor

My car cleaner always complains to me that the glass of the car is very difficult to clean as it is a difficult job to remove a stain completely from it. At first, I did not pay much attention to this but after some time I saw this as a genuine problem. A wet cloth is simply not enough, soapy water is needed every time to clean the glass properly.

Faulty parking sensors

I am not sure if any such case has been reported elsewhere. I had faulty parking sensors on my new Ciaz. The fault was not resolved at the workshop as well since the software was at fault. Finally had to get them replaced under warranty claim. I hope I don’t face any such issue in the future.

Paint quality a letdown

The paint quality is very disappointing as it gets scratched quite easily and daily cleaning has removed all shine from the paint, despite the car being only a few months old. Have to get it polished now from time to time to keep the car looking decent and not dull.

Vibrations and heavy clutch

Petrol cars are known for their light clutch as compared to diesel cars but my petrol Ciaz has a hard clutch now. When the car was new it was good but with use, it has become really hard and even produces vibrations. Workshop tells me the clutch is not due for replacement yet. Cannot figure out the problem.

Surprisingly smooth diesel engine

When I was buying my car, I knew that it would become rough after a few years like all diesel cars do. However, my car is almost three years old now and it still feels very smooth and peppy. Maruti is indeed doing something very right with their diesel cars.

Bad service experience

My driver left the car at the workshop for service and by mistake left the navigation chip in the slot and a few other things in the dashboard storage. When he went to take the later, all those things were missing. This is not the way to treat a customer, by robbing his personal belongings if he/she leaves them in the car by mistake.

Features need more refinement

There are some good bits in the car, like a very effective AC, which cools the car quickly even on the hottest of days. However, the touchscreen buttons could be bigger and more responsive. Have to press them more than once at times. Also, the seats are large and roomy, but they are flat and feel more like a bench, lacking support. So, while turning and manoeuvring, the person keeps moving and slipping about on the leather seats.

Big improvement

I was very happy with the previous Alto and this one is even better than that one. I purchased the CNG version and it is giving me very good mileage. Overall Maruti quality as usual.

Automatic gears are good

Happy to see modern technology even in small Maruti cars. Automatic gears are smooth and helpful in traffic use. Mileage is still decent, comparable to manual car.

Expected better

Alto is quite old and the new one should have been very different from the old car but it has only changed from the outside. Car still drives like the old one, no difference.

Decent space, bad seats

Car has decent space inside; two tall people can sit easily on the back seat. The seats are very flat, feels like a bench seat cut into 2 pieces. Not very comfortable specially for long journeys.

Disappointing

Car feels very unrefined, which a Maruti is not supposed to be. Outside noises come into the cabin a lot and quality of fittings is not so good either. After one year, doors of my car make noise when closing or opening.

Not fit for highway driving

When driving on highway, car feels very light and the brakes also don’t help. On rough roads suspension makes clattering sound and it is inadequate when the car is full of people. For individual city use only.

Smooth and refined

Hyundai’s diesel engines are so refined they feel like petrol ones. The car is almost soundless and the peculiar diesel engine noise is missing which is great. The drive is also quite comfortable on city roads. Money well spent!

Petrol engine feels lazy

The petrol engine in the Creta is not suitable for enthusiastic driving. There is not much power on offer which makes it a difficult to job overtake other cars, especially on highways. The car itself is very good, just the engine lacks punch.

Reverse camera not so good

Compared to the entire parking sensor system fitted in the car, the camera is a major let down. It needs a much better resolution and more clarity to be effective during very sunny days and at night.

Good suspension

I have been using my car for a few months now and I have to travel on all types of roads for my work. I cannot imagine a car better than the Duster to do the job. It has good ground clearance and the suspension can tackle any type of road surface with ease. Even large potholes don’t cause a problem. Highly satisfied.

Practical storage in the cabin

Very few car makers think about the everyday needs of car users but Renault has done a good job of keeping those things in mind. Biggest example – storage areas in the Duster. The door pockets and dashboard storage are well-proportioned to fit a decent number of things in them. Cubby holes are also of good use.

Comfortable seating for rear passengers

I spend most of the time in the rear seat of my car and it is time spent in good comfort. There is quite a lot of room in the back and the seat is supportive. What is best, however, is the suspension set up which does not filter any bump into the cabin. Happy with the designing and thought put into the car.

Very economical

Despite going for the 108 bhp version of the Duster, the mileage has been beyond my expectation and this happens very rarely with anyone. Though my driving style is very eased out, I am pretty sure it will perform well if driven aggressively too.

High-speed stability is remarkable

Most of my driving is done on highways and the Duster is very refined and solid for doing such kind of driving. It gives me a lot of confidence since it remains very stable at high speeds as well. Brakes and tyres also perform decently.

Heavy controls

The Duster is a good car no doubt but the experience is somewhat ruined by the heavy clutch pedal. When modern cars are coming with more and more lighter pedals, Renault is heading in the opposite direction. I can’t imagine how tight it will feel when the clutch will be used up significantly.

Interiors look and feel cheap

The car as per its price is in a good segment but the interiors make it feel like it belongs to a much lower price bracket. Plastics are hard and the overall look of the cabin is quite dull. It feels like a big cost-cutting move by Renault.

Feature loaded

I am very impressed by my Grand i10 as it is loaded with features like keyless entry, parking sensors and rear camera. It has plenty of safety features, even in the middle variant and that is what I like the most. A very useful car indeed.

Comfortable seats

Small hatchbacks usually suffer because of a lack of space and small seats. However, the i10 does very well in this aspect. The moment I saw the car in the showroom and sat inside it, I did not wait any longer to buy it. Very spacious for its overall size.

Value for money

The i10 is a very good car if you want style and practicality both. It looks very fresh and modern and is also useful since it is a small hatchback. The features are also plenty and the drive is smooth. Hyundai’s reliability is an added bonus.

Refined car

I bought my Grand i10 last year and I am very pleased with the ownership experience. The car is not expensive to maintain and it is efficient as well, so the fuel expense is also minimum. Overall, after completing 20,000 kms the car still feels new and has not developed any major fault. Hard to find a hatchback of this value and calibre.

Dull interiors

Higher models of the Hyundai range are known for their good quality, upbeat interiors. However, in the Grand i10, they have not done such a good job. The plastic quality is decent enough but the same grey colour all over the place makes it really dull. A two-tone combination would have been much nicer.

Good for city running

I have been a Hyundai fan all my life and for me, no one does it better than them. To tackle peak hour traffic with ease I went for the Grand i10 and I am quite happy with the car. On the highways it might be not so impressive due to less power but it is proper for city use. Even when the car is loaded with five people it still drives actively and the mileage is fine for a petrol automatic.

Important features missing

When Hyundai can give good features like parking sensors and rear AC vents in a car like the Grand i10, they should not have missed out on other things like ABS and climate control. I hope they have added these features to the new version of the car.

Diesel engine not so good

I use my car for highway drives as well and sadly it is a bit of a let-down. While the diesel engine works fine in city conditions, at highway speeds it does not have much to offer. Performance dips if you push too hard. Diesel engine needs more punch!

Bouncy and unstable

The suspension on the car is just too soft and that also becomes an inconvenience, especially at high speeds. Makes the car very nervous and the ultra-light steering does not help either. As a result, the drive becomes very unstable when going over uneven patches of the road.

No driving feel

The car feels absolutely lifeless. To make it easy to use, all controls from the pedals to the steering have been made so light that the car does not feel connected to the road at all. Feels like driving a video game car!

Decent space in the back seat

The back row of seats may not be so good for tall people, but it works just fine for people with average height. Legroom is also generous, and the seats are supportive and not very hard.

Lots of good features

I purchased the top variant of the EcoSport and the car is packed with features. Big fan of the Bluetooth Sync system as it gives me the convenience of using the system on the go. Safety features like ABS, EBD and engine immobilizer are always a huge benefit to have in a car. Overall experience has been good.

Excellent suspension and overall drive

I have driven the car in the most aggressive manner possible and it has passed all tests with flying colours. The set up is very capable and the car handles very well on any type of surface. Ford has got a winner on its hands.

Performance of diesel is generous

Diesel engines are not ideally suited for extreme driving as they don’t have much power to offer. However, the EcoSport does the job very well with power available in any gear. But, it does have some lag and thus responds slowly.

Quality stereo system

Based on experience, German brands like Volkswagen and Skoda provide the best stereos in their cars and they are easily the benchmark for other brands. After using the EcoSport, I can say that Ford is the closest to reaching the mark. Despite being a standard 4-speaker system, the sound has a lot of depth and generous surround sound feel.

Decent fuel mileage

Reviews online suggested that the new 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine gives good mileage without compromising much on the performance. So, I bought the same car and I can report that the car is doing well in terms of mileage. Driving with a light foot I managed to get 18 kmpl from my car.

EcoBoost engine only good in the city

The 1.0-litre engine lacks punch which is immediately noticeable when trying to reach higher speeds on empty roads. It has enough power for city cruising but not enough for highway drives and leisure driving.

Vibration in pedal and gear lever

I have been facing this problem ever since the car was new, it has only increased with time. When in reverse gear or first, there is quite a lot of judder in the clutch pedal and gear lever when the car moves from stationary. Online forums suggest it could be a loose gearbox or engine mounting. Not expected this kind of error from a reputed company like Ford.

Diesel engine disappoints on highway

Overtaking in lower gears is quite easy because all the performance is focussed in those gears. The problem comes when trying to get to higher speeds in high gears. It feels as if the engine is out of stamina after 110 kmph.

Automatic gears are nice

I waited patiently for the automatic variant of the EcoSport to launch as I had read the international reviews and it was being termed as a good option. I am satisfied with the wait as the car is good and the automatic gears are quite smooth, unlike other automatic options in the market. Good purchase.

Tyres are better than expected

When I purchased the car, I had made up my mind to get new tyres and wheels for my car soon but after using the car for a few thousand kilometres, I was impressed by the standard Goodyear tyres. The grip levels even on wet roads are quite good and they seem like they will last long.

Relatively cheap to maintain

Ford claims that the service cost for the EcoSport is the lowest among its competition and I think it is true. All paid services of my car so far have not cost me more than five or six thousand rupees which is decent for a car of this cost.

Best hatchback

This is the best car in hatchback segment. No complaints. I have the first model and I am very satisfied customer after all these years. Planning on buying new AMT model also.

Sync entertainment system not so accurate

The voice recognition system in this car too faces the same old problem of accent recognition. As a result, first 2 command attempts are bound to fail. I hope the issue can be resolved with a software update in the future.

Brakes not strong enough at high speed

When using the brakes at normal traffic speeds, they seem to work fine. But, when sudden braking or high-speed braking is needed, they are noticeably weaker. I asked the workshop to look into it and they told me that there had been similar complaints from others. I was assured that minor setting adjustments would resolve the issue and no part changing would be necessary.

Backdoor quite heavy to use

The boot door needs quite a bit of effort to open and close. Besides being heavy, the hinges are also quite tight. Maybe my car is new because of which the hinges are not worn yet. Perhaps it will become easier with use.

Steering feel is light but not numb

Ford has quite a reputation for producing cars with a nice steering feel and the EcoSport is a testament to that claim. The steering is nice and light but, it is not numb like the one in a Maruti car. It is chunky, good to hold and connects the driver to the car very well.

Good performance

Despite a small capacity engine, the car feels exciting to drive on open roads. Reaches good speeds in no time and remains solid on the ground. The braking is also good enough to manage emergency stops from high speeds.

Difficult to maintain

Car service from the company workshop is quite expensive and things only get worse after the warranty expires. Spares are also costlier than other brands.

Decent styling

The looks are very balanced, neither too many cuts or lines nor too bland and boring. It looks smart and stands out in a crowd. Happy with my purchase.

Seats too flat and hard

The car’s good performance is not matched at all by the comfort it offers. The seats are quite hard and feel as if sitting on a flat bench. Only the ride quality which is very good partially saves this otherwise major design flaw.

Oddly placed switches inside the cabin

Buttons for controlling the radio and other media are placed behind the steering wheel and the mirror adjustment knob is placed below the handbrake. No matter how hard one tries, these controls are difficult to get used to. Also, it becomes a pain to control them while driving, distracts a lot. Best to adjust the mirrors when not moving and memorize the radio buttons!

Good, long warranty

I purchased my car right when it was launched and the 4-year warranty really helped me during the entire ownership experience. The car did develop some flaws during that time but luckily, they were taken care of by warranty claims. As a result, the experience has been very peaceful.

AMT can be smoother

AMT works fine only when driving at traffic speeds as the gear changes happen as they are supposed to. But, when you wish to overtake and press the accelerator hard, the changes become very jerky, as if the gearbox is not prepared to change at that time. Something should be done to make the changes smooth and more immediate.

Good value for money

The Duster was quite cheaper than its competitors without much difference in features or engine, so I bought it. The decision turned out to be a good one as I found it to be very impressive. Looks and performance are equally good.

Easy to use on rural roads

I use my car for expeditions and so the road surface is usually loose gravel, mud and rocky at times. The high ground clearance and good suspension really help to tackle all types of surfaces. Overall decent off-roading capability.

Steering movement bit awkward

Making sudden and quick turns is not very reassuring as the steering feel is quite vague in such instances. Best use the steering at a modest pace with gradual movement.

Perfect for first time drivers!

Love this car! Bought it for my son on his 18th birthday & I think it is a perfect first car for a young boy. It has a lot of space and with Alto’s new look, even the young generation can appreciate it.

Simply Awesome!

I have a small family & was looking for something in an affordable range. Alto 800 perfectly fitted my requirements and with different safety features in their top variants ensured me that it is the car I should buy!

Better mileage than expected!

It’s been 5 months since I bought Alto 800 and I am really happy the way it has performed so far. I have the petrol version and I am quite surprised with its mileage as it is a little over of what I expected.

Too costly

It is a very expensive car. No one will spend so much money on a Toyota. It is ridiculous to price such a car so high really.

Alto 800

It’s a great car for what it’s worth. I researched all the cars in the segment and I ended up buying it because I think it is great in its segment.

Great small car

Alto is a really nice car if we talk about in the small car territory. The features of the car, the safety and the maintenance makes it quite affordable.

Very modern looks

I am very impressed by Hyundai’s new design and it looks very modern, especially the i20. Since I have used Hyundai cars before I am aware the car will not disappoint me in terms of the driving and maintenance and the tradition continues. Happy with my elite i20.

Good quality interior

I think the reason why Hyundai cars a more expensive than their competition is because they provide premium quality interiors in all their cars. The new i20 which I purchased a few months ago also has very pleasing interiors which justify the car’s price. Even the switches are solid and don’t feel cheap.

Central locking issues

My i20 is only a few months old and already I am facing central locking issues in the car. Left front door has to be locked manually. I got it checked at the workshop and they told me that they have received the same complaint from many other users. Of course, the fault will be taken care of by the warranty but it will require the entire door handle to be replaced due to a sensor issue.

Clutch pedal judder

I purchased the diesel variant of the i20. After driving around 20,000 kms the clutch pedal and the gear lever started producing quite a bit of vibration and judder. The problem is only faced in 1st and reverse gears. I am yet to take the car to the workshop but my local mechanic has told me that it could be a faulty/loose gearbox or engine mounting.

Water condensation in headlight

I started facing this problem after I got the car back from the workshop after the first service. The headlight has never been opened as such, but the workshop did adjust the low-beam. So, I am not sure whether it’s their fault or some other manufacturing defect. Condensation disappears after the headlight is on for a few minutes.

Repeated issues with AC

My problems started with the AC fuse and have now gone on to a faulty compressor itself. Even when the car was new the cooling of the AC did not feel as strong as it does in a new car. I am thinking of getting the entire cooling system replaced under warranty.

Diesel engine is very refined

Hyundai is certainly the leader when it comes to producing refined engines. Their petrol and diesel engines feel nearly identical which is a big achievement keeping in mind the very different natures of both the kinds of engines. I am very satisfied with my diesel i20 and it has been a very good performer in every season.

Striking looks!

Lexus NX is a very unique looking car and that’s what I love the most about it. For many years to come, I’m sure no other car will carry such a radical design.

Backseat AC vent not well placed

Being a college student, I usually travel with a lot of my friends with me so my car is mostly packed with people. However, when someone tall sits in the rear seat, especially in the middle, they find it very difficult to place their feet properly as the rear AC vent gets in the way. It could have designed in a better manner to provide more space.

Expensive service cost

Maintenance spares and labour charges are quite high at Hyundai and the work is not of any exceptional quality either. Though the car does not demand much in terms of faults and errors, those who drive a lot and have to get it serviced much frequently will see that their budget is significantly affected with each workshop visit.

Music system screen too small

When car makers do so many good things with a car but make silly errors, it disappoints a lot. Same is the case with Hyundai’s new i20. The car is very good overall but things like the centre screen on the dash feel as if picked out from a video game panel because it is too small as compared to the design of the dash around it. As a result, it is a bit difficult to see clearly and also looks quite weird.

Petrol mileage not satisfactory

When I compare to the claimed mileage figures to the ones I actually get. The difference is quite shocking. I don’t know if the situation is same with diesel models as well, but it is certainly disappointing for petrol users. I have not been able to get a mileage higher than 13 kmpl from my i20. Utterly disappointed.

Suspension softer than needed

The car is very bouncy over speed breakers and uneven road surfaces. Also, when the boot is filled with goods, the rear of the car dips too much, almost scrubbing the road surface. It needs to be stiffer than its current set up.

Old one is better

The first-generation CR-V has been my favourite. I am planning to pick up a used one. I loved its simple and aerodynamic design. And compared to all the new CR-Vs, that one looked quite compact.

Quite practical for everyday use

It is a very good car for everyday use as it is not too big but also provides plenty of space to travel with colleagues and family. Also, the controls like the steering, gear and clutch are very light which make the car easy to use in traffic. My car has been running faultless and I am very happy with it.

Outside visibility poor from the back seat

My driver drives me around so, I spend most of my time in the back seat of the car. However, the window line on the back door of the i20 seems to be quite high, or the back seat is placed quite low. Whatever the reason, the result is that it becomes quite difficult to see out of the window. Not a good point for those who tend to get road-sick.

Boot loading requires a lot of bending

The boot floor is quite low in the i20 and due to this deepness, one has to bend quite a lot to load and unload things from the boot. It’s not a major fault but it is also not small enough to be ignored.

Light controls

I have to go through a lot of heavy traffic every day to reach my office and so I need a car which is very light and easy to use and also it cannot be an automatic as the fuel bills will skyrocket. So, I went for the i20 and it has been a pleasant experience so far. Despite being manual, it is easy to use as the clutch and steering are ultra-light. Best decision yet.

Slow response at low speed

When I need sudden bursts of power, like before an overtaking move, the i20 disappoints quite a lot. There is a lot of gap in the time from when I press the accelerator to the time the power is actually delivered by the engine. It needs to be tuned in a better manner to make it much more responsive.

Awesome mileage in city

I own the diesel variant of the i20 and it has delivered on its promise of being fuel-efficient. Irrespective of the AC being on or off, the mileage remains steady with little or no variation. The car also suits my driving style so, it is always fun to go for a drive in it.

Suspension very soft

I have a driver so I spend most of my time on the back-seat. The suspension is very soft because of which the car moves about a lot when going over bumps and speed breakers. Also, the back-seat passenger tends to jump about much more than the one sitting in the front.

Scope for improvement

While the car is quite refined overall, small things which need to be worked upon, like the keyless entry feature only on the driver door and a manual anti-glare interior mirror in a car of this price range! Things not of much consequence but at the same time not expected from a brand like Hyundai.

Clutch issues

I had to get the clutch changed after driving the car for only 20,000 kms. The workshop informed me that the clutch had been worn out and did not have a problem as such. What sought of a car company provides a clutch that only lasts for 20,000 kms? Unbelievable!

Expensive after-sales services

Paid services fleece the owner due to high part and labour costs. On further enquiry, it turned out to be the same case for all Hyundai models across the range. Most expensive to run among other counterparts.

Best car from Hyundai yet

I have always been a big fan of Hyundai cars, ever since I bought the Santro. Creta, however, is simply beyond what I expected and it is worth every rupee I have spent on it. Expecting more great cars from Hyundai!

Bad experience

My experience with the Creta has been nothing but bad. Ever since I bought the car, it has been having issues in some form or the other. From faulty wiring to breaking noise to clutch issues, I have seen the lot. I can only hope that these faults are a one-off case for Hyundai!

System settings reset after call on Bluetooth

I am not sure if this fault can be rectified by an update or laptop diagnosis, but it is certainly annoying. Every time after receiving and ending a call when the phone is connected to the car via Bluetooth, the music settings, like the equalizer levels, are reset. I have to go into the menu to set them all over again. Will have it checked out at the workshop during my next visit.

Music system and touch screen are very good

The Harman music system on the XZ+ variant is by far the best quality system I have come across in a car of this price range. Even the touchscreen is smooth to use, does not hang and the resolution is also decent. Overall, it makes the car feel quite premium.

Android Auto works flawlessly

Android Auto connectivity of my phone with the car is amazing. Using important apps like Google Maps has become even more convenient thanks to this. However, the screen does feel a bit small when using navigation, otherwise, it is perfectly fine for scrolling through menus.

Driving modes actually work

I always felt that this new fad of ‘Driving modes’ is nothing but a marketing gimmick. However, when I tried them out in the Nexon, my opinion was instantly changed. Not only is there a marked difference in the engine performance in each of the three modes but there is even a noticeable difference in the mileage figures.

Fitment and quality issues

I started facing some quality issues with my Nexon within a few days of using it. First, the dashboard developed odd ‘squeaking’ sounds which are constantly there when the car is on idle. Second, I had to get the rear seat lock adjusted as the seat did not close after it had been folded for the first time. There was also a metallic ‘knocking’ noise coming from the right front door whenever the music was on in the car. It turned out to be loose window motor bolts rattling due to the vibration from the door speakers.

Paint and panel quality is top notch

Most cars develop some kind of a dent or scratch at the smallest of bumps with any other vehicle. However, the Nexon proves this point wrong. I have had a few bumps and scrapes with some 2-wheelers at decent speeds but to my surprise, the paint is still intact in those places with only a few scratches on the surface. Even the panels have not been dented in any way. Genuinely surprised by this.

Spacious and comfortable cabin

The Nexon looks quite compact from the outside but on the inside, it has a lot offer, especially in terms of seating comfort and space at the rear. It is the ideal car for long journeys and there is plenty of space in the boot as well for luggage of five people.

Interiors feel and look premium

The interiors of the Nexon are a pleasant change from the beige ones that most other cars come with these days. The grey-black theme has been used cleverly to avoid any dullness and on the contrary, it looks quite modern and futuristic. Plastic quality has vastly improved from the previous Tata cars.

Best car for long-distance driving

Good mileage, plenty of power and a smooth, comfortable ride – For me, these are the ingredients for an ideal long-distance drive and the Nexon provides these three in the best possible manner. I am very happy with my car and I am planning to buy another one for my brother very soon.

Rough sound from suspension

Every time the car goes into a deep pothole at high speeds, there is a strong ‘clunk’ noise from the front left suspension. It sounds as if metal is hitting metal. However, it is not the case on the front right wheel. I had the car checked at the workshop but they informed that everything was fine and no part was damaged/broken which might be contributing to the sound.

Weak headlights

Despite having projector headlights on the top variant, the low beam is quite weak in my opinion. I am forced to switch to high beam even at partially lit stretches of the road. I think I will have to get the original bulbs replaced with high-powered LED bulbs or go for a HID set up.

Gear lever sticks in reverse

Every now and then, when I try to engage reverse gear, the gear lever does slot into it despite putting all effort. It is also not because of the release plug not being pulled properly. Every time this happens, I have to move the car a little forward and then I have to try again. No idea as to why this happens, that too, not regularly but just on a few occasions.

Engine lacks punch

The engine feels lively only at high rpm. At slow speeds, it takes quite a while to get a move on. Maybe it has been tuned to perform in such a manner, however, it makes the car feel lethargic in city driving.

Quite a few panel gaps

As I started using my Nexon frequently, I could not help but notice that there were some odd panel gaps both in the interior of the car and in the exterior panels as well. On my car, I found these gaps between the bonnet and fenders and between the dashboard lid and the main dashboard. This only shows Tata has just begun in the right direction. It still has a long way to go.

Good amount of storage inside

The door pockets are big enough to hold large water bottles, the central cup holders can easily hold tall glasses and the dashboard storage is wide and deep. Overall, there is plenty of storage area in the car which is fully usable. It is indeed a well-designed car!

Excellent suspension and drive quality

The suspension on the Nexon is very well balanced. It is soft enough to absorb almost any kind of potholes but, it is firm enough to provide a rock-solid and stable high-speed drive. Very few cars are blessed with such a well-rounded setup. Deeply satisfied with my Nexon.

Steering wheel slips a lot, no grip

A proper leather-wrapped steering wheel would have made the driving experience even better. However, with the kind of steering wheel the Nexon has right now, the experience is not so good. There is almost no grip in the steering wheel and as a result, if my hands are completely dry, which they do become when the AC is on, then operating the wheel becomes an issue as it tends to slip a lot, especially in single-hand operation.

Steering feels disconnected

I was very impressed by the new Swift and I found the car to be worth its cost. However, after using it for a few months, I realised that the driving experience is greatly affected by the steering of this car. It is as light as a power steering can be but also as disconnected as it can be. I have no idea how much the car will steer with how much steering input. Certainly, just not the car for an enthusiast.

Brake problem recall

Having a recall from major mass manufacturers is not new, however, it is acceptable for small flaws which don’t directly affect the safety of the car. My car was a part of the recent recall announced by Maruti for fixing a faulty brake vacuum hose which was a potential danger. Errors in such crucial parts of the car are not acceptable especially from reputed manufacturers. I will certainly think twice before I buy a Maruti Suzuki car again.

AMT is a blessing!

I have been a Swift fan ever since the car was launched. Now that the traffic conditions have become much severe, the AMT option in the Swift is a welcome addition. It is quite smooth and somewhat adaptive to the driving style also. Does not hurt the mileage as well. Overall, the car is very good and only made better by the AMT.

Faulty door

My car is 3 months old and it has already developed a fault in the front right door. The door makes a creaking sound while opening fully. Had it checked out at the workshop and the told me it is due to the faulty door hinge. Since the car is relatively new, all spares have not reached the workshops yet and it is taking quite some time to get it replaced.

Trouble in changing gears

I am facing an issue in changing the gears from second to third and vice-versa. The fault was not there when the car was new. It started happening only a few days ago. Based on some reading on the internet, it could be a faulty gearbox or a bush/mounting problem.

Infotainment system keeps restarting

While driving, the entire system keeps restarting after every 30 minutes or so. No other problem in the system since it keeps working fine after restarting. Need to get it examined at the workshop to see if it can be resolved by a software update or if the hardware unit needs replacement.

Vdi/Vxi variants missing important features

Maruti seems to be operating on the old-fashioned model of marketing where lower variants used to be without any features and the top variants had all the features and technology. I was very surprised to see features like reverse camera and sensors, fog lamps and Android Auto missing on the Vdi/Vxi variants of the new Swift. If the car prices are revised with each new generation upgrade, then so should the feature list be on all variants of the car.

Spacious interiors

I am quite happy with my Swift as it can easily accommodate 5 people inside with each person having enough legroom to sit comfortably even on long journeys. The rear seats of some hatchbacks are so tight that the front seats need to be pushed right till the dashboard to give proper space at the back. This is certainly not the case with the new Swift.

Diesel top variant a bit expensive now

Maruti seems to be deviating from their original purpose: To provide cheap cars for the masses. Now, the prices are right up there with the likes of Hyundai or Volkswagen. Shelling out nearly 9 lakh rupees for a top-end Swift seems a bit unreasonable now, keeping in mind that it is still a hatchback and therefore, provides limited space.

Refined, powerful engine performance

Swift has always been a front-runner when it comes to providing blistering performance and the story is the same even with the new version. I took a test drive of both the petrol and diesel cars and I was impressed by both. However, out of the two, the petrol engine felt smoother and therefore, I went for the petrol variant. It looks good, both on the inside as well as the outside.

Slow speed braking problem

Sometimes while driving at slow speeds, mostly in traffic, the brakes don’t work properly. In every alternate press, the brake pedal sinks and to avoid it, the pedal needs to be pushed twice in quick succession. I genuinely did not expect this kind of a problem form a new car as this is mostly experienced in much older, used cars. Need to visit the workshop soon before the problem becomes unmanageable.

Boot space is improved

While I have purchased the new Swift, my friend continues to own the old car. When we parked both our cars next to each other for a quick comparison, the most striking change, apart from the looks, was the boot capacity. It is a marked improvement from the old car.

Look and styling is contemporary

I like the new updated Swift a lot because it looks very different from all other Maruti Suzuki cars at the moment, apart from the Dzire. It is now a strong competitor for other new-age models like the Jazz and the i20. The performance of the car is equally good.

Malfunctioning electricals

The faults in my new car are small and negligible, however, they are certainly rare in a car which is only a few months old. Some lights on the roof panel have stopped working on particular settings and even the power window switches tend to stop working from time to time. I am hoping that it is just a wiring flaw and not an individual component failure.

Good quality sound system

I purchased the Zxi variant of the new Swift and the first feature I like on the car a lot was the stereo system fitted in the car. Despite having only 6 speakers, the sound quality is quite good and has plenty of depth.

AMT in both diesel and petrol options

Very few car makers tend to offer AMT option with diesel engines and for someone like me who has driven diesel cars all his life, the AMT diesel option in the Swift line-up is very suitable. The diesel engine offers plenty of power and gives good mileage despite the AMT. Very satisfied with my car.

Bluetooth pairing is troublesome

Maruti’s system is already complicated as Bluetooth pairing can only be done when the car is not moving. However, in my car, the process is even more tiring because I have to switch the system on and off repeatedly in order to pair my phone successfully. First, I thought that my phone is faulty and so I got it checked. It turns out the car’s system is faulty and the phone is fine. The car needs a workshop visit it seems.

Faulty fuel indicator

For the past few days, the fuel indicator bars on the front console have started blinking intermittently. I opened the console at home and re-connected it but the problem still persists. The entire unit will either be repaired or replaced since all fuses are also fine, so the fault is in the meter unit itself.

Warning lights glowing despite no fault

My car is nearly two years old and it had been running without a fault until now. Last week, I noticed that the airbag and low oil pressure warning lights came on and are ON constantly. I had the car checked at the workshop and they told me that there was no issue with the engine oil or the airbag. On further checking, the fault was found to be damaged wiring of the sensors, most probably by a rat or lizard. Can’t really avoid such problems if the car is parked near bushes and plants!

Hill hold function developed a fault

I was driving on a steep road in the hills when due to some traffic pile up I had to activate the hill hold function. To my surprise, it didn’t work and I nearly rolled back into the car behind me. I stopped and checked if the problem was persistent. It was working two out of five times. When I got the car checked, the workshop suggested it could be due to the sensor not being calibrated properly. So, they re-calibrated it and it was back to normal.

Android compatibility issue

My phone was working completely fine with my car’s music system until the time I updated the Android software on it. Now the car’s system is unable to read the upgraded system and the company tells me that the car’s system is up to date also. Don’t know how to resolve the issue.

Starter motor issue

I faced some issues with the starter motor on my XUV after the rainy season was over last year. Due to some driving in heavily water-logged areas, water had managed to go inside the motor and had damaged the armature. There was also a lot of carbon build up on the terminals. All these faults were taken care of by the service camp organized by the dealer.

Black smoke from the exhaust

My car has been producing a lot of back smoke lately. I first thought it was due to pending service and oil change. However, even after the service, there was no effect. The workshop has told me that I will have to leave the car at the workshop for a few days so that they can diagnose the problem with rigorous testing and inspection.

No space in the back seat

I am an average size person and so I do not need to push back the driver’s seat till the very back to sit comfortably. Even so, the back seat is quite disappointing as it has barely any space for adults to sit. In my opinion, it is only suitable for children.

Decent suspension for a small car

I drive through some rough roads when I commute to work every day and my car does a pretty good job of providing a stable drive despite the roads being full of potholes of all sizes. I can drive over bad roads at a decent speed and still manage to pass through comfortably. The only place where the car faces an issue is on big speed breakers as the bumper usually scrapes the road.

Engine better than the old car

Having used the old Alto for quite a few years, I can easily compare the new one to it. The new model is quite refined than the previous one in terms of engine and power. Also, the cabin has been improved a lot which makes the car more appealing. Overall, a trustworthy option.

Steering not easy to use

The steering on the Alto is too light which makes it difficult to drive the car, especially on rainy days since I am unable to figure out how much the wheels will turn with what amount of steering. It does feel comfortable to use but only in heavy traffic. Otherwise, it is a tricky car to manage.

Low mileage for a hatchback

After careful testing and recording my observations, I saw that my car is only giving me 12-13 kmpl mileage in the city. This is not fair as the company claims much higher figures. First, I thought that there may be a fuel leakage but there was not any. No point in buying this car if the mileage is the same as any compact SUV or bigger hatchback

Perfect for city driving

The car is not much in terms of looks and performance but it is genuinely a useful car when the parking at home and the office is ultra-congested. Only then does one realize the car’s true value. It is perfect for city driving and not expensive to get repaired or serviced. Good value for money.

Light and easy to use

I have been using my Alto 800 for six months now and I don’t have many complaints about it. Most of the things about it are positive, especially the light controls like clutch and steering which make driving an easy task. However, the new model could do with a better quality of interiors. Still not comparable to Hyundai or Honda.

Unstable at high speeds

To increase efficiency the weight of the car has been kept quite low. However, it has resulted in the car becoming very unstable at high speeds to such an extent that it starts moving around whenever a strong wind is blowing or there is a dust storm. Otherwise, keeping these problems aside, the car is not bad at all.

Dull interiors

Maruti is giving some really good interior options in their higher, more premium models but it seems like they have ignored the lower segments quite badly. Alto 800 is a prime example of this. I was so unhappy with the original interiors of the car that I had to get them modified from an upholstery shop. I hope a suggestion mail to the company will solve the issue in future.

Small seats, no support

The seats of the Alto 800 are very disappointing. I also use a Tata Nano and its seats are far more comfortable despite being of almost the same size as the Alto. I was hoping that since the car has less space the seats would compensate for it, but they simply add to the problem.

Important features are missing

Maruti urgently needs to work on its packaging of the smaller segment cars as there is simply too much cost-cutting clearly visible to the customers. I have no idea why Maruti has left out things like the left rear-view mirror and central locking from the Alto 800, even from the top variant. This is deeply annoying for potential customers!
