MG Gloster Engine and Other Specifications

This Premium SUV is equipped with a 1996cc, 2.0L SC20M Twin-Turbocharged I4 engine mated with an eight-speed automatic (TC) transmission system. The twin turbocharged engine incorporates four inline cylinders; each cylinder having four valves operated by a dual overhead camshaft. It is capable of producing a maximum power of 212bhp at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 478.5 Nm at 1500 rpm. The ARAI claimed mileage of the Gloster car is 12km/l.

The suspension setup of this all-wheel-drive car includes a dual helix independent front suspension, five link integral rear suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels with 255mm (width) radial tubeless tyres, and front and rear disc brake.

The exterior of this car flaunts an octagonal chrome front grille, chrome-plated front guard plate, race track patterned diffused light guide in tail lamps, floating roof with roof rails, chrome door handles, multi-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels, garnish in the DLO (daylight openings), dual barrel twin chrome exhaust, and metallic front and rear scuff plates. Furthermore, it has decorative garnish at mirror and fenders, ORVMs with MG logo projection, and fog lamps, skid plates, and mud flaps in the front and rear.

The block/brown MG Gloster interior encompasses premium leather upholstery with a twelve-way power adjustable ventilated driver seat with heating and message features, eight-way power adjustable co-driver seat with heating trait, and captain seats in the second row. Additionally, it comprises 64-clolors ambient lighting, eight-inch multi information display, LED interior reading lights in all rows, electronic gear shifter with auto park, intelligent start-stop button, PM 2.5 air filter, and dual pane panoramic sunroof.

The car-cabin also includes paddle shifters, three zone automatic air conditioning system, wireless charging, three USB charging ports, four 12V power sockets, front console armrest with storage, six cup holders, four bottle holders, sunglass holders, anti-pinch power windows, auto dimming inner rear view mirror, and vanity mirror (with cover and illumination) for front seat occupants.

MG Gloster Safety Features

The MG Gloster safety features include dual front airbags, side airbags, full length curtain airbags, hill hold control, hill descent control, electronic stability program with traction control system to help prevent from losing vehicle-control in curves, roll movement intervention to detect the possibility of car-rolling and to help avoid it, ABS with EBD to avoid skidding of car, and electro-mechanical differential lock to shift the torque to the wheel with traction to extricate the vehicle from a tough and slippery situation.

This SUV also has forward collision warning, automatic emergency brake, lane departure warning, lane change assist, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, driver fatigue reminder system, speed sensing auto door locks, three points seatbelts for all passengers, speed warning alert, and front and rear parking sensors, to aid in the safety of the car occupants. It has also scored five-star GNCAP rating when tested in Australia, albeit the Indian version is yet to be tested.

MG Gloster Price and Variants

The MG Gloster price is slightly higher than its competitors Jeep Meridian and Toyota Hilux. Looking at the variants, it is sold in six variants named Super 7 STR 2.0 Turbo 2WD, Sharp 7 STR 2.0 Turbo 2WD, Savvy 7 STR 2.0 Turbo 2WD, Savvy 6 STR 2.0 Turbo 2WD, Savvy 6 STR 2.0 Twin Turbo 4WD, and Savvy 7 STR 2.0 Twin Turbo 4WD.
