MG Comet EV Gets Costlier by Rs 10,000 in India, Check New Prices

MG has raised the price of its electrified hatchback, the Comet, in India. Except for the Executive model, all variants have seen a uniform price increase of Rs 10,000. The electric hatchback comes in three trim levels: Executive, Excite, and Exclusive. The last two offer fast charging options. Following the most recent price hike, the EV now costs between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.24 lakh. Both are ex-showroom prices. The battery-powered Comet is available in five paint options: Candy White, Apple Green with Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, and Candy White with Starry Black. MG Comet: Battery, Charging and Range
The Comet sports a single motor installed on the rear axle and a 17.3kWh battery, which generates 41bhp of peak power and a maximum torque of 110Nm. MG recently added a new 7.4kW AC fast-charging feature to its electrified hatchback. Before this, the car was only available with a 3.3kW AC charger. With the new charger, users can now charge their electric vehicle in less than 3.5 hours as opposed to seven hours with the old charger. However, it is important to keep in mind that only the Excite and Exclusive variants come with a fast charging option.
MG Comet EV: Design and Dimensions
The Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform developed by SAIC serves as the foundation for the Comet. The electrified MG has a full-width LED strip, elegant headlights, a prominent front bumper, disc brakes, drum brakes, LED illumination, and 12-inch alloy rims. It measures 1,640mm in height, 1,505mm in width, and 2,974mm in length, with a wheelbase of 2,010mm.

The cabin of the Comet EV is equipped with a range of amenities, including a two-spoked steering wheel with pod-like controls, dual 10.25-inch screens for the instrumentation, an infotainment system, an illuminated MG emblem, and a 12-volt charging socket. The vehicle is equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child mounts, dual front airbags, and 3-point seat belts for both the front and rear seats for safety.
