When the Comet EV was first introduced last year, it was only offered with a slow 3.3kW AC charger. But with the new 7.4kW AC fast-charging option, the car can now be fully juiced up from 0 per cent to 100 per cent in less than 3.5 hours, which is a serious reduction in time in comparison to the previous charger's 7 hours. The MG variant is powered by a single PMS (Permanent Magnet Synchronous) motor mounted over the rear axle. The EV has a maximum power output of 42bhp and a peak torque of 110Nm. It further has a maximum speed of 100km/h.

The electric hatchback is 1,640mm in height, 1,505mm in width, and 2,974mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,010mm. The Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, developed by SAIC, serves as the foundation for the Comet, and front McPherson struts and rear multi-link coils make up its suspension system.
The Ev is offered in five colour options – Candy White, Apple Green with Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, and Candy White with Starry Black.
