This off-roader is powered by a 2925cc OM656 turbocharged I6 engine that produces a roaring power of up to 326bhp. With such power figures, it delivers superior performance on difficult terrains with extraordinary climbing ability. Further, the peak torque of 700 Nm makes the Mercedes G-Class capable of achieving an acceleration of 100 km/h within 6.4 seconds, giving a thrilling feel of off-roading. The power transmission task is performed by an automatic (TC) system to offer a smoother driving experience.
In terms of performance, it has a capacity of fording a depth of up to 70 cm and handling the side sloping of up to 70%. It is claimed to be able to climb a steepness of up to 45° which makes it a perfect off-roader. Further, the break-over angle of 25.7° makes it able to master any of the obstacles, during driving over the larger bumps.
