Maserati Levante Highlights
With each and every manufacturer stepping into the SUV space, it was about time an SUV with the Italian brand’s character and attitude showed up in the auto industry. The Maserati Levante was first revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, and it’s the carmaker’s first-ever SUV to make it off the production line.
In essence, the Levante is a luxury crossover that portrays the design ethos and the core traits of the Italian marque into one of the fastest SUVs in the world. But the thing that remains to be seen is that if Maserati Levante price makes it to be a value for money product.
Maserati Levante Exterior
The Levante is, perhaps, the most beautiful SUV to ever go on sale in the Indian market. It almost looks like a sports car on stilts. The aggressive face, slim and sleek headlamps, massive grille, huge alloy wheels, daunting character lines, and a balanced rear end gives the Maserati Levante new model a fairly sophisticated look.
Maserati Levante Variants
The Maserati Levante variants are as follows: Standard, Diesel, GranSport, S, and GranLusso. As for the equipment, you get a Harman Kardon- or a Bowers & Wilkins-sourced sound system can be optioned, topping out at 1,280 watts with 17-speakers. There’s an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
Other than that, you also get a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree cameras and four-zone climate control. It does, however, miss out on some nifty features such as ventilated seats, hands-free parking assistant, and so on, which is a bummer given the Maserati Levante on-road price.
Maserati Levante Interior
The interior of the Levante is finished in black and red, giving it a sophisticated yet sporty appeal at the same time. The overall quality here is commendable, as Maserati has used some very high-quality materials inside.
The space inside is good too. You do get massive front seats with support in all the right places and draped with the highest quality leather. Space at the rear, too, is quite a lot for sitting two for a long overhaul.
Maserati Levante Engine Specifications & Performance
The Maserati Levante comes powered with three engines. The first of the lot is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol, which is tuned to churn out 350bhp and 500Nm in the standard variant. It is tuned to make 430bhp and 580Nm in the S variant. Regardless, it comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
In case of the oil burners, the Diesel variant features a 3.0-litre (2,987) V6, good for 271bhp and 600Nm of torque. Moreover, the GranSport variant features a slightly lower capacity 3.0-litre (2,979cc), churning out 345bhp and 500Nm. In the GranLusso trim, the same engine produces 424bhp and 580Nm of torque. The diesel engines, too, are paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
