Going by the way it looks, the Maserati Ghibli new model is desirable enough to grab eyeballs wherever it goes. There’s simply nothing else that matches the level of sophistication here. Up-front, the sculpted long bonnet gives this Maserati a low-slung stance, which says that this is the sportier iteration of the Quattroporte.

The trident moniker sits in the middle of the vertically-stacked piano-black finished grille, which, then, flanks the angular and slim headlamps. The massive wheels, sloping roofline, and prominent arches gel well for a sportier and meaner look.

The Maserati Ghibli variants are as follows: Standard, Diesel, GranSport, S, and GranLusso. The higher-spec trims of the 2018 Ghibli come with adaptive LED headlamps, the Skyhook adaptive suspension system, and the Integrated Vehicle Control system (IVC), along with Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS). You also get an 8.4-inch infotainment screen with improved graphics and overall interface.

Everything inside the Maserati Ghibli is beautifully crafted with rich materials and contrasting soft leather. The Ghibli can be customized with certain materials such as high-grade ‘Pieno Fiore’ leather upholstery and a choice of high-quality interior veneers.

The space inside the cabin is great, although it is not as roomy as some of the German rivals within the same price bracket. Regardless, the seats are extremely comfortable in both rows and support you in the right places.

Maserati Ghibli Engine Specifications & Performance

The Maserati Ghibli is powered by a petrol and a diesel powertrain. The diesel engine here is a 3.0-litre V6 with fixed geometry turbo, which is capable of churning out 275bhp and 600Nm of torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

The 3.0-litre T-GDI V6 petrol engine, on the other hand, is available in two states of tune. Where the lower-spec variant of the Ghibli gets the V6 engine in 350bhp and 500Nm form, the higher-spec variant of this Maserati gets the V6 in 430bhp and 580Nm configuration. Regardless of the state of tune, it comes mated to an 8-speed gearbox as a standard fit.
