The company has also developed industrially over the years. Its relocation from Bologna to the current site in Viale Ciro Menotti, Modena in 1940 has been one of the key steps in its history.

Maserati is now a global brand operating in over 70 markets. Over the years, Maserati has worked with several established engineers and designers such as Giugiaro, Zagato, Ramaciotti and Pininfarina. Having worked together on several projects, Maserati and Pininfarina have created some of the most popular designs and concept cars of all time, including the Birdcage 75th, heralded as one of the most iconic Maserati car models in recent history.

In 2011, Maserati entered into an agreement with the Shreyans Group, appointing it as its authorised importer and retailer in India. The first Maserati dealership in the country opened by the Shreyans Group was in Mumbai followed by the second facility in New Delhi in 2012. However, the Maserati-Shreyans Group alliance came to an end in 2014 after the company was unable to do justice to its after-sales services and in some cases even unable to deliver the car despite accepting full payment for it.

However, after a brief hiatus, Maserati made a comeback into the Indian market and appointed new dealers in 2015 to import and sell Maserati cars in India. These were AMP Supercars in Delhi, Bagga Luxury Motorcars LLP in Mumbai and Jubilant Autoworks in Bengaluru.

The first set of new Maserati cars launched in India consisted of the Quattroporte, GranTurismo and the GranCabrio. The entire range of Maserati cars in India consists of the Ghibli, Quattroporte, GranCabrio, GranTurismo and the Levante, of which, the GranCabrio is the priciest Maserati car and also the flagship model in the country.
