Maruti Suzuki eVX SUV Spotted Testing in India for the First Time, Gets Silver Alloy Wheels and More

In the electric vehicle market, Maruti Suzuki seems to be making great progress with the eVX presently being tested in India. It is anticipated that this electric SUV, which is scheduled for release in early 2025, will go up against the electrified Hyundai Creta. With its initial concept unveiling at this year's Auto Expo held in January, the Japanese auto giant's first electric offering started creating a buzz in the global markets. Later on, the car was spotted doing rounds on the streets of Poland and was displayed along with the new Swift at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show in a nearly production-ready configuration. Maruti Suzuki eVX Spotted: Key Details
Many design features of the concept car, such as its short overhangs, robust haunches, and silhouette, were seen on the latest test mule as well. A wide front air intake, LED projector headlights, an integrated roof spoiler, an upright front fascia, a taillight that appeared to be full width, rear door handles positioned on the C-pillars, and a covered front grille, are among the other elements of the model that were visible despite its heavy disguise. Moreover, the rear-facing tapering roofline highlights the coupe-SUV stance of this vehicle. With a wheelbase of 2,700mm, the eVX electric is expected to measure roughly 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,600mm in height. Furthermore, the upcoming offering from the auto major rolls on multi-spoke alloy wheels finished in silver.
Maruti Suzuki eVX: Battery Specifications
In terms of specs, Maruti Suzuki stated during the eVX concept's debut that it is powered by a 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack. However, they did not specify the precise details of the battery unit to be installed into the production version of the model. It is possible that the production-spec model may come with a 48kWh battery pack that is marginally smaller and provides a 400-kilometre real-world driving range.
Maruti Suzuki eVX: Interior and Safety Features
Although the cabin of the car was not visible in the test mule spotted here, it was seen on the one spied in Poland in June this year. The interior and safety features of the eVX comprise a tall dashboard with a floating central digital instrument console, horizontally positioned AC vents, a big touchscreen infotainment unit, a panoramic sunroof, touch-based AC vent controls, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, two-spoke steering wheel, several airbags, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), adjustable power seats, rotary drive mode selector, multifunction steering wheel, a rearview mirror, and plenty of storage space.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: Market Rivals
As for the rivals, the Mahindra XUV400, the Tata Nexon EV, and the forthcoming Hyundai Creta EV will be squarely challenged by the eVX electric SUV when it arrives on the domestic market in 2025. As for the price, it is expected to retail for between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
