Maruti Suzuki eVX Electric SUV Spotted Testing for First Time Ahead of Debut
A set of spy shots of the Maruti Suzuki eVX has been doing rounds on the internet ahead of its debut. The concept version of the SUV was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. Here's what the first spy images reveal about the SUV.
A camouflaged near-production version of the much-awaited Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV has caught testing on a foreign land ahead of the official debut. The spotted test mule was in an all-black covering, yet several design cues were visible. For starters, the Japanese carmaker revealed the eVX at the 2023 Auto Expo in concept form. According to the Growth Strategy by Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), Maruti Suzuki will have up to six electrified cars in its range by 2030. Reportedly, the eVX will be one of these six models. According to industry reports, the upcoming SUV will be built on an exclusive EV platform, designed collaboratively by Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. Maruti Suzuki eVX: What Spy Images Reveal?
The eVX electric SUV has been captured for the first in a near-production avatar at a charging point in Krakow, Poland. According to the spy images, the new electric SUV from the house of Maruti Suzuki mirrors seems almost identical to the concept, unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023. It showed an upright front fascia with L-shaped headlamps and a blanked-off grille. Further, it featured flared wheel arches, as well as, rear door handles on the C-pillar. Aside from this, the SUV sported narrow wraparound taillights and a built-in roof spoiler at the rear.
Inside, according to the spy shots, the SUV sported a steering wheel with two square spokes and a free-standing digital display that accommodates the instrument panel and touchscreen infotainment system. There is also a rotary drive mode selector as well.
Maruti Suzuki eVX: Powertrain
Mechanically speaking, the concept was officially revealed to be equipped with a 60kWh battery that offers a driving range of up to 550 kilometre on a single charge. According to industry reports, the production model of the electric SUV will have the same mechanical specs.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: Expected Launch
By 2025, Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce the eVX in India, with an estimated ex-showroom pricing of Rs 25 lakh. In our market, after the launch, the electric SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Kona Electric, the MG ZS EV, and more.
