Auto Expo 2023: Maruti Suzuki is all set to expand the electric car line-up by bringing the Maruti Suzuki eVX to India in January-February 2025. At the ongoing Auto Expo, an all-new concept electric SUV, eVX has been showcased with 550 Kilometres of range.
Auto Expo 2023: A brand-new Maruti Suzuki eVX concept was revealed at the ongoing auto show in India on the first media day. The eVX, based on an all-electric SUV platform, was the main highlight in the Maruti Suzuki stable. This vehicle will go on sale in either January or February 2025 and will kickstart the journey of the carmaker in the EV segment. The new SUV will be 4,300mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,600mm high, making it nearly the same size as the current-generation Creta. Further, it will have a wheelbase of 2,700mm. Alongside the Maruti Suzuki eVX concept, the carmaker showcased 16 models like the Grand Vitara, the Ciaz, the Ertiga, the WagonR Flex Fuel, and more. Inside, the new eVX will be quite spacious, thanks to the larger wheelbase and lack of an engine and a transmission. The Concept eVX's dedicated EV platform will serve as the foundation for a number of upcoming EV models by the carmaker. Here's everything you need to know about the electric platform-based SUV.
Design
The style of Maruti's current IC (internal combustion engine) line is different from the eVX concept car unveiled at the Auto Expo. The front of the Maruti eVX concept sports a squared-off grille, a tall bonnet with a flat snout, and V-shaped headlamps with distinctive LED daytime running lamps.

The concept car gets short overhangs, high ground clearance, protruding wheel arches, and strong cladding that runs over the SUV's sides. It has a coupe-SUV appearance because the sloping roofline blends in with the sloped rear windscreen and the tailgate. The concept car's low-profile tyres will likely be replaced by more traditional ones in the production version. The alloy wheels are reminiscent of Tesla's aerodynamic wheel design.
