New Suzuki Ertiga Cruise Hybrid Launched in Indonesia, Priced Equivalent of Rs 15.3 Lakh
The new Suzuki Ertiga Cruise Hybrid featuring a bigger battery pack has recently went on sale in Indonesia. Here’s all you need to know about the new hybrid version in detail.
Suzuki has introduced the new Suzuki Ertiga Cruise Hybrid MPV at the Indonesia International Motor Show. The automated hybrid version costs 301 million Indonesian Rupiah (about Rs 16 lakh), while the manual hybrid version is priced at 288 million Indonesian Rupiah, or roughly Rs 15.3 lakh. The two standout features of this new Ertiga Cruise version are a sharper design and an improved mild-hybrid drivetrain. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is one of the most well-liked MPVs available for purchase in India. It has a 1.5-litre mildly hybrid gasoline engine, which generates 102bhp and 137Nm. However, when running on CNG, it produces 121.5Nm and 87bhp. It is still uncertain if Maruti Suzuki will upgrade the Ertiga in India with a new mild-hybrid drivetrain.
2024 Suzuki Ertiga Cruise Hybrid: Key Highlights
The Ertiga Cruise's improved mild-hybrid drivetrain is undeniably its biggest highlight. The hybrid model features a 1.5-litre gasoline engine with a larger 10-ah battery. It claims to use less fuel than the Ertiga's claimed figure of a little over 20km/l in India. The engine still generates 137Nm and 103bhp and is mated to either an automatic or a manual gearbox. The battery is covered by an eight-year warranty from the manufacturer.
The MPV has received multiple visual upgrades, including two paint options – Pearl White with Cool Black (dual tone) and Cool Black. The regular Ertiga Hybrid GX, on the other hand, is available in Pearl Snow White, Cool Black, Metallic Magma Grey, Silky Silver, Burgundy Red, Mellow Deep Red, and Brave Khaki colour options. Sharper styling cues, such as a front and rear underbody spoiler, a shortened antenna, fashionable bumper decorations, LED DRLs, and dual-tone alloy wheels further add to the MPV’s overall design.
The hybrid MPV has a number of features and gets a black and grey finish inside. Some of its standout features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated cupholders, cruise control, auto climate control, and MID display. In terms of safety, the car gets two front airbags, Hill Hold Control (available exclusively on automatic models), ABS with EBD, ESP, and ISOFIX anchor seats, and a rear-view camera with parking sensors.
Will the Ertiga Cruise Will Make it to India?
There has been no formal announcement regarding the Ertiga Cruise's introduction in India as of now. In India, only the Ciaz sedan comes equipped with the K15B Smart Hybrid drivetrain in Maruti Suzuki’s line-up. The manufacturer may decide to incorporate this update into the Ertiga model sold in India based on market demand, competitive dynamics, and product differentiation. For those unaware, the Ertiga MPV in India crossed a significant sales milestone of 10 lakh units.
