Under 4 lakh rupees, this is the most practical and reliable purchase in the country. Maruti is renowned for its brilliant service network and customer satisfaction.

Cheapest car to maintain

The spares for an Alto are very affordable. It is cheaper than many hatchbacks, and more importantly, it is available everywhere. There is no difficulty in searching.

Rear seat is cramped

Space at the back is very less. This is the main problem with this car. That is why I am contemplating buying Datsun Redi-Go as it is more spacious and looks good too.

Design is not modern

Alto 800 design is too old, and somehow, the quality feels very cheap. Like a Chinese product.

Want to buy used one

I am planning on buying a 2005 model of Alto. I like the old design. And I feel it is much peppier than the current model. I am getting a model which has done 40,000kms. Should I go for it?

Why no automatic?

If they can offer AMT gearshift on Alto K10, why not on 800 model? I am waiting to purchase with auto gearbox, because I am not familiar with gears.

Smooth engine

I have had a look at the Renault Kwid and Datsun Redi-Go. Both are having noisy engines. Some people told me to go in for Alto as it is smooth, and tried and tested model.
