About Maruti Driving School (MDS)
The idea of a Maruti Driving School was envisioned and implemented by Maruti Suzuki as part of its CSR agenda. While the first Maruti Driving School was opened in Delhi, later, the services were extended to other cities of India as well. These schools are based and function on international standards, where learners go through classroom and practical sessions. Many international practices like road behavior and mannerisms are also taught in these schools. The Maruti Suzuki Driving School was among the first to introduce advanced driving simulators for better judgment skills and featured the concept of route maps for holistic on-road practice. The training begins on simulators mimicking life-like conditions before moving on to actual vehicles. In July 2018, the 450th branch of the Maruti Driving School was established in Tamil Nadu and over the past few years, nearly 530,000 people have already been trained through these schools. By 2020, Maruti Suzuki India aims to train 1,500,000 people through its driving schools.
