Land Rover Defender 130 Launched in India at Rs 1.30 Crore
The Defender 130's price in India has been disclosed by Land Rover. The SUV is offered in two variations, HSE and X, with a starting price of Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). The Defender 130 is a larger version of the Defender 110.
The Defender 130, the third body style for the off-roader, has been officially launched by Land Rover in the country, completing the three-pronged model line-up of 90, 110, and 130, the first two of which have been on sale since 2020. The new Land Rover Defender 130 is available in HSE and X trims and is priced between Rs 1.30 and 1.41 crore (ex-showroom, India) with both petrol and diesel powertrains. The Defender 130 is the longest model in the lineup and, most importantly, has a three-row layout with room for up to eight people. On the exterior front, both SUVs are identical up to the C-pillar, including the wheelbase, thanks to the Defender 130's 340mm length addition behind the Defender 110's rear axle. However, the Defender 130 has a significantly longer rear overhang than the Defender 110, which lowers the SUV's departure angle from 40 degrees to 28.5 degrees. Nothing distinguishes the 130 from its smaller siblings other than the added length. The styling cues on every Defender model are the same.

When it comes to features, the 130 includes everything that is already available on the 90 and the 110 models. This comprises a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, connected car technology, wireless charging, a Meridian audio system, 14-way electrically adjustable front seats, a 360-degree surround camera, matrix LED headlights, and 20-inch wheels. It also has an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the most recent Pivi-Pro software.
The Defender 130 is the only luxury SUV that can seat more than seven people thanks to its interior, which features a new two-three-three seating arrangement. The eight-seat SUV's three rows are set up in a stadium-style configuration, with the middle and last rows being slightly elevated, to improve forward visibility. A sliding and folding middle row provides access to the third-row, and according to Land Rover, three adults can sit there quite comfortably. Third row passengers benefit from additional lighting from a second sunroof in the back of the vehicle, and four-zone air conditioning is available as an option.

The Defender 130 comes with two engine options in India: a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine that cranks out 394bhp of maximum power and 550Nm of peak torque. The second engine is a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel mill with 296bhp and a maximum torque of 600Nm. Both engines receive mild hybrid support, are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and power is typically distributed to all four wheels. Both the Defender 110 and the Defender 130 come standard with air suspension.
The BMW X7 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS are the Defender 130's main competitors in India for its price range (Rs 1.19 - Rs 1.21 crore).
