Kia Seltos Gets Two New Variants in India, Price Starts at Rs 15.40 Lakh
The Kia Seltos HTK+ diesel AT and the HTK+ petrol CVT variants, retail for Rs 16.90 lakh and Rs 15.40 lakh, respectively. The Seltos petrol CVT was previously only available in the HTX model, which costs Rs 16.60 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom.
In the Indian market, the Kia Seltos is one of the most popular compact SUVs in the C-segment. It arrived on our shores back in August 2019. The model received a mid-cycle facelift last year. Since then, the Korean car major has continued to revamp the Kia car to remain competitive in the market. In a recent development, the manufacturer has expanded the Seltos roster with two new automatic variants. Both new additions come under the HTK+ trim. Speaking of the price, the HTK+ diesel AT and the HTK+ petrol CVT variants, retail for Rs 16.90 lakh and Rs 15.40 lakh, respectively. The Seltos petrol CVT was previously only available in the HTX model, which costs Rs 16.60 lakh. Notably, the HTK+ variant costs Rs 1.20 lakh less than the HTX variant. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.
Likewise, the diesel AT model was available in the following variants: HTX, GTX+ (S), GTX+, X-Line (S), and X-Line. The other new version of the 1.5-litre diesel-powered Seltos HTK+ is an automatic six-speed torque converter variant. This model is the most affordable diesel Seltos available, carrying a price tag of Rs 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Before this new model, the diesel automatic Seltos range began with the HTX grade, which costs Rs 1.30 lakh more.
Kia Seltos HTK+: Features
The new HTK+ variant (diesel AT and petrol CVT) of the car boasts several notable features, such as electrically folding ORVMs, cruise control, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, a smart key with an engine start-stop button, automatic climate control, rear defogger, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel, rear wiper and washer, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and steering-mounted controls.
Kia Seltos HTK+: Powertrain Details
The Kia Seltos is available with three engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbodiesel engine, and a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. The naturally aspirated petrol (NA) engine produces 113bhp and 144Nm and can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a CVT. In contrast, the diesel engine can be paired with a six-speed manual, six-speed iMT, or six-speed automatic transmission. Finally, the Kia Seltos' new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine puts out 253Nm of peak torque and 158bhp of maximum power and may be mated to either a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed DCT.
The cost of the SUV ranges between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). It competes against the Hyundai Creta, the Honda Elevate, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Volkswagen Taigun, the Skoda Kushaq, the MG Astor, and the Citroen C3 Aircross.
Kia Carens Updated for 2024
In addition to the Seltos, Kia also improved the Carens range for 2024. Following this, there are currently six new diesel trims available for the model: Premium, Premium (O), Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus. Thanks to the latest revamp, a six-seater version of the Luxury Plus is now available for purchase in the market.
Moreover, the Carens iMT will no longer be available in diesel. The diesel range has been further extended with the inclusion of a new Premium (O) variant. In terms of price, the new Premium diesel is priced at Rs 12.67 lakh, the Premium (O) at Rs 12.90 lakh, the Prestige at Rs 14 lakh, the Prestige Plus at Rs 15.47 lakh, the Luxury at Rs 17.15 lakh, and the Luxury Plus at Rs 18.15 lakh. The mentioned prices are ex-showroom for MT variants.
