Kia Seltos Base HTE Variant Gets Five New Colour Options in India, Range Starts at Rs 10.90 Lakh
The new Pewter Olive shade, which debuted in the higher variants when it was first introduced, is part of the expanded colour palette available for the Kia Seltos HTE.
Korean automaker Kia has updated the colour palette for the base variant of its flagship SUV, the Seltos, following which, the HTE variant is now available in five new exterior paint schemes. The base variant was previously available in two exterior colour options: Sparkling Silver and Clear White. The fresh Pewter Olive shade, which made its debut with the higher variants when it was first introduced, is also now part of the colour palette of the Seltos HTE. The other colour options are Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Gravity Grey, and Aurora Black Pearl. That said, the HTE variant is still offered only in single-tone options – dual-tone shades start with the higher-spec GTX+ models. Except for the colour palette revision, the Seltos' feature list, specifications, and prices remain unchanged.

Kia Seltos HTE: Powertrain Options
On the mechanical front, a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox powers the Kia Seltos SUV's base HTE model. The unit is capable of generating 144Nm of peak torque and 113bhp of maximum power. According to the manufacturer, the HTE variant can achieve 17km/l of fuel efficiency.

When it comes to features, the base model of the Seltos gets halogen projector headlights, unlike the new LED headlight and DRL units of the higher variants, and a 4.2-inch colour TFT as the driver display instead of a digital screen. That said, the base variant also gets six airbags as standard for safety, along with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control (ESC), and hill assist.

Kia Seltos HTE: Market Rivals
The new Seltos currently comes in three trim levels – Tech Line, GT Line, and X-Line. In the Indian market, it retails for between Rs 10.90 lakh and Rs 20.35 lakh. The model, which debuted in its redesigned version last year, competes in the compact SUV segment with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Citroen C3 Aircross, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
