Honda Amaze Engine and Performance

The Amaze comes with an 1199cc inline-4 engine with four valves per cylinder configuration on the single overhead camshaft. It is an i-VTEC engine that delivers effective and efficient performance. It develops a peak power of 88bhp at 6000 rpm and an utmost torque of 110 Nm at 4800 rpm.

It comes with two transmission options – a five-speed manual and another seven-speed automatic CVT system with a paddle shifter.

As claimed by the carmaker, the automatic transmission variants deliver a mileage of 19.46 km/l. The mileage for manual gearbox variants is stated to be 18.65 km/l. The fuel efficiency figures might vary based on the driving conditions and styles.

The new Amaze has a McPherson front strut and a torsion beam in the rear, both with coil springs. It includes torsion anti-roll bars and telescopic hydraulic nitrogen-filled shock absorbers. Speaking of wheels and tyres, the base variant is equipped with 14-inch steel wheels sporting 175mm wide radial tyres. The other variants come with 15-inch alloy wheels wearing radial tyres of 185mm width. On the braking front, it incorporates ventilated discs in the front and drum brakes in the rear.

The front end flaunts the signature chequered flag pattern grille design and LED projector headlamps with DRLs and turn indicators. The fog lamps are also LED projector-based. The side profile exhibits chrome door handles and classy diamond-cut alloy wheels (steel in a few variants). The rear end showcases iconic wing-shaped tail lights, a brand logo, and a roof-mounted shark fin antenna.

The cabin has a seating capacity of five passengers with ergonomic bucket front seats and spacious rear seats. It has an 8-inch floating advanced HD infotainment display and a 7-inch colour TFT multi-information display. The infotainment has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity features. Besides, the cabin includes a wireless smartphone charger, PM 2.5 air purifier, and a fully automatic climate control system. It also has an immersive six-speaker sound system and a one-touch push start-stop button, among many other cabin features.

On the safety front, it gets six airbags, a lane watch camera, and a multi-angle rear camera with guidelines. The safety is further enhanced by 46% high tensile steel-made body structure, hill start assist, and vehicle stability assist features. It has plenty of other safety features like ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminders, and ISOFIX child seat anchors, among others.

The Amaze sedan has ADAS known as Honda Sensing that incorporates lane-keeping assist and a road departure mitigating system. It also includes adaptive cruise control, a collision-mitigating braking system, an auto high beam, and a lead car departure notification system.
