Honda Cars India has delisted the Honda Amaze Diesel variants ahead of the RDE norms implementation in India. Earlier in 2013, with the introduction of the first-generation Honda Amaze diesel, Honda began selling diesel-powered cars in the Indian markets. The sedan was launched with a brand-new 1.5-litre diesel engine for India. However, it has been reported now that the carmaker has removed the Honda Amaze Diesel versions from the official website to comply with RDE Norms, which will come into effect from April 2023. Presently, the Hyundai Aura, the Tata Tigor, and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire are diesel models, which are available in the sedan range. Numerous diesel models from various brands have reportedly been discontinued as a result of the new RDE norms, which require significant investment in upgrading diesel engines to comply with the strict new emission rules.
