Now, Ford Mustang Owners Can Revv the Engine through the Key! Here’s How
Not only can a 2024 Mustang owner use the key fob to start the engine of their pony, but thanks to the Remote Rev feature, they can also rev the engine all the way up to 5,000 rpm!
The 2024 Ford Mustang was introduced in September of 2022, with a revised 2.3-litre turbo EcoBoost engine and an optional V8 engine. In comparison to the previous version of the Ford Mustang, the 2024 model is equipped with a slew of advanced features, which include Ford's Remote Rev and a dual-screen dashboard design, featuring the SYNC4 infotainment system and Unreal Engine software. After the first double-sided key in 1967, the first optional key fob in 1994, and the first model with factory remote start in 2015, Remote Rev is the latest innovation in the Mustang's key history. So far, the reaction to Remote Rev has been mixed. Some find it funny, while others find it bothersome. However, Ford has revived interest in this function by posting a video demonstrating it.

2024 Ford Mustang: How Remote Rev Works?
In order to use the Remote Rev feature in the 2024 Mustang, owners must push the unlock and lock buttons on the key fob in rapid succession within three seconds after starting the engine. The engine will rev to 2,000rpm, indicating that the feature is active. Repeating the unlock-lock procedure will cause the engine to rev to 5,000rpm.

To prevent damaging the engine, the remote rev feature has a hard cap set at 5,000rpm. Once the engine has been revved three times, the feature will enter a dormant state until the owner repeats the unlock-lock button sequence on the key fob.
