Citroen eC3 EV India Launch Soon: Range, Performance, Features, and More
Citroen has debuted the new eC3 EV and revealed its specifications ahead its launch in India. The manufacturer has also confirmed that bookings for the hatchback will begin on January 22, 2023, with the price announcement slated for February 2023.
Citroen has recently unveiled the brand-new eC3, an all-electric version of the C3 hatchback that is currently available in India, with a price announcement expected in the coming days. Citroen will also export the eC3 from India, in an effort to increase sales volumes. Bookings for the Citroen eC3 will begin on January 22, and it will be available in showrooms the following month. The Citroen eC3 EV was spotted on the road several times before its official debut in India. It was spotted in its production-ready form at a charging station a few days ago. It was painted orange and had the same split headlamps, steel wheels with covers, and other design elements as the C3's petrol counterpart. Although the price of the electric four-wheeler is unknown, it is expected to go on sale in India for Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, let us have a look at what all can we expect from this upcoming EV model.
Exterior Styling
Beginning with the Citroen eC3's exterior, the bodyshell of the hatchback is identical to that of the ICE-powered C3. The only difference is that the exhaust pipe has been removed and a charging port has been added to the front right fender. As with the C3, the eC3 is also available in a variety of colour schemes, including White, Orange, Grey, and Steel Grey monotones, nine dual-tone combinations with the same body colours, and Orange, White, and Grey roof options. Further, the Vibe cosmetic pack is offered in three colours: Orange, White, and Grey.

Interior
The interior has also been kept exactly the same as that of the Citroen C3. Anodised Orange and Anodised Grey are the two available colour options for the trim. The new central console, which houses the drive selector and is reminiscent of the Citroen C5 Aircross from 2023, is the only difference. Both the digital instrument cluster and the 10.2-inch infotainment system continue to remain. Dual airbags, a four-speaker audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are just a few of the features. Citroen anticipates that using the same body will enable it to price the eC3 extremely competitively compared to its rivals.
Powertrain and Range
The 29.2kWh battery pack for the Citroen eC3 is sourced from the Chinese company Svolt, though Citroen plans to localise it in the future. The Citroen EV has a 3.3kW onboard AC charger and CCS2 fast charging capability. The eC3's front-axle mounted electric motor cranks out 57bhp of peak power and a maximum torque of 143Nm. The eC3 has a 320 kilometre range that has been ARAI certified. There are two driving modes available to it: Eco and Standard, in addition to regenerative braking.
Charging Time
Citroen claims that the new eC3 has a top speed of 107km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 60km/h in 6.8 seconds. It can be charged using DC Fast Charging, which can complete a 0 to 80 per cent charge in 57 minutes. The battery can be recharged from 0 to 80 per cent with a 15A plug charger in 10.5 hours.
Features
The Citroen eC3 is offered in two variations, Live and Feel, just like its gasoline-powered counterpart. The eC3's features are comparable to those of the ICE model, with the addition of a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker audio system, and a height-adjustable driver's seat in the higher-spec Feel model. The MyCitroen Connect app, which has 35 features, is another connected car feature available on the eC3. It allows you to locate the car, view its location, and find the closest charging station. It comes equipped with dual airbags and ABS with EBD for safety.
