Citroen eC3 EV Debuts in India; What To Expect?

The Citroen eC3 EV, slated to be launched in February 2023, has officially made its debut in India. It will come equipped with a 29.2kWh battery pack, which offers 56bhp and 143Nm of torque. The EV has an ARAI-certified range of up to 320 kilometres and can accelerate from 0 to 60km/h in 6.8 seconds. The electric hatchback's top speed is limited to 107 kilometres. It is equipped with a CCS2 rapid charging system and an integrated 3.3kW AC charger. The Citroen EV incorporates regenerative braking and has two driving modes – Standard and Eco. It will be available in two variants – Live and Feel and four mono-tone and nine dual-tone colour options. According to the manufacturer, the electric four-wheeler will be available with a wide range of accessories and customisation possibilities.

In terms of dimensions, the electric hatchback will measure 3,981mm in length, 1,733mm in width, and 1,604mm in height. Additionally, it will have a wheelbase of 2,540mm. The new Citroen eC3 EV has taken design cues from the petrol variant of the C3, but it features a few tweaks, like the EV's front end no longer has an exhaust, and its charging outlet is now located on the front fender. Other components, like the bumper, however, are the same. The interior of the electric vehicle has also undergone minor changes. The centre console now features a new drive controller and a new gear lever.

The electric car's feature list is nearly the same as its ICE counterpart, which includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen entertainment system with connectivity features, a height-adjustable seat, and more. The vehicle’s safety kit includes features like ABS with EBD and dual airbags.

Before its official debut in India, the Citroen eC3 EV was spotted several times on the road. A few days ago, it was spied in its production-ready form at a charging station. Sporting an orange paint scheme, it featured the same split headlamps, steel wheels with covers, and other design aspects that are found on the C3's petrol counterpart. Although the prices of the electric four-wheeler are still unknown, it is expected to go on sale at a starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
