Citroen Basalt Vision Latest Updates

1. 12 October 2024: The Basalt coupe SUV gets a 4-star crash test rating from Bharat NCAP.
2. 01 Sep 2024: Deliveries of the Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV have begun in India, with prices starting from Rs 7.99 lakh.
3. 17 August 2024: Citroen releases the full Basalt price-list which confirms that the automatic variants start at INR 12.79 Lakhs.
4. 09 August 2024: The Basalt coupe has been launched in India at a starting price of 7.99 Lakhs.

Citroen Basalt Engine and Transmission

This car is equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which also powers the C3 Aircross. It develops a peak power and torque of 80bhp at 5750 rpm and 115 Nm at 3750 rpm, respectively. For the power transmission, it gets mated to a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox options.

The mileage of this Citroen model is stated to be 18 km/l which is variable in different driving conditions.

Citroen Basalt Specifications

The Basalt coupe comes with a MacPherson strut front suspension with a coil spring. In the rear, it boasts a twist beam with the coil spring. The 16-inch alloy wheels are covered by 205mm wide tubeless tyres. The braking setup incorporates ventilated discs in the front and drum brakes in the rear. The application of the ventilated discs ensures that the optimum stopping power is available.

The Citroen Basalt is 4352mm long and 1765mm wide. It has a wheelbase of 2651mm and an overall height of 1593mm. The car has a boot space of 470 litres and fuel tank capacity of 45 litres.

The exterior design of this Citroen SUV features a well-balanced silhouette. Its front end features a unique grille that is divided into multiple quadrilateral sections. The chrome elements are visible in the grille while the lower bumper showcases aluminium elements or perhaps only the shade. The sleek DRLs further enhance the elegance for being connected through a chrome element that also creates the brand logo. In addition, the roof is contrasting black, rear-view mirrors integrate blinkers, and window surrounds are also black. The rear end of the coupe showcases wide stylish tail lamps and a rugged lower bumper.

The cabin of the Citroen Basalt offers enough space and comfort. It is furnished with stylish leather upholstery with plush seating. It is loaded with plenty of features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch colour TFT cluster. The infotainment also has android auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity feature. Furthermore, it has a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel with mounted controls. It also boasts a USB mobile charger, a tropicalized automatic climate control, and an electric rear-view mirror. Moreover, it has comfort+ lounge seats, front central console with sliding armrest, rear AC vents, and rear seat armrest with cupholders.

On the safety front, the Basalt incorporates several essential and advanced features. It is equipped with an antilock braking system, an electronic brake force distribution system, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. It also has a hill hold control, three-point seatbelts, seatbelt reminders, six airbags, electronic stability program,  and ISOFIX, among others.
