Citroen Basalt Interior Teased Again Ahead Of India Launch; Gets C3 Aircross' Dual Displays and More
Citroen India has shared a new teaser video of its upcoming Basalt, revealing more details about its interior and features. The Coupe-SUV will go on sale in India next month, with expected ex-showroom pricing beginning at Rs 10 lakh.

The standout elements, borrowed from the C3 Aircross, include a chic textured dashboard, a 10.2-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch fully digital driver’s display, and identical central AC vents. Although the cabin of the Basalt will resemble that of the C3 Aircross, it will have unique improvements that emphasise its premium positioning such as an automatic AC panel. Along with armrests for the front and back passengers, the teaser also shows a phone holder and integrated cupholders on the rear armrest. Furthermore, the headrests provide side support, enhancing comfort for all passengers.

Citroen Basalt Coupe-SUV: Other Features
Apart from the touchscreen and driver's display, the Basalt is also equipped with keyless entry, cruise control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, electric folding mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, and push-button start/stop.
In terms of safety suite, the Basalt will likely have six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a rear parking camera, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, and ABS.
Citroen Basalt Coupe-SUV: Design Highlights
The Citreon Basalt is built on the Stellantis Smart Car platform. It is comparable to the C3 Aircross in size, with a length of approximately 4,300mm. With its unique two-part grille, chrome Chevron logo, and faux silver skid plate, the SUV borrows styling cues from the Aircross. It features a revised hood and LED DRLs. Other distinctive design elements come in the form of projector headlamps, pinched window lines, and squared-off wheel arches with fresh cladding. A blacked-out window line extension draws attention to the C-pillar, while pull-type door handles and newly styled tail lamps with a larger LED signature add to the vehicle's contemporary look. The Basalt also sports a dual-tone bumper with an elegant black and silver finish.
Citroen Basalt Coupe-SUV: Powertrain Options
In India, Citroen has manufactured four models under the C-Cube programme, the most recent being the Basalt. The French manufacturer's 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 115bhp of maximum power and 215Nm of peak torque, will be available with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

The Citroen Basalt will go on sale next month, with expected ex-showroom pricing beginning at Rs 10 lakh. The recently unveiled Tata Curvv will be its closest competitor. Other rivals include Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, and MG Astor.
