The Citroen Basalt is available in three variants – You, Plus, and Max – and ranges from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.62 lakh (ex-showroom).
Within a month of launching the Basalt coupe-SUV, French manufacturer Citroen has officially commenced deliveries for the SUV from the company's Thiruvallur factory in Tamil Nadu. The factory is also home to the C3 Aircross SUV, C3 hatchback, and eC3 EV. The first unit of the Basalt was delivered to a customer in Delhi in the presence of Citroen Brand CEO Theirry Koskas.
Based on the Stellantis Smart Car Platform, the Basalt is Citroen's fourth model for our market under the C-Cubed programme and is positioned above its platform sibling, the C3. The model is available in three variants – You, Plus, and Max – and ranges from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.62 lakh (ex-showroom). With a focus on providing a unique driving experience, the Basalt blends the practicality of an SUV with the sporty silhouette of a coupe. While its front end appears very similar to that of the C3 Aircross, the Basalt is quite different in profile with its sleek alloy wheels and a sloping roofline, extending down to the boot lid and merging with a sizeable tailboard. The rear end features wraparound LED tail lamps, a silver skid plate, and a dual-tone bumper.
