It rivals the BMW i4 and the Volvo C40 Recharge with similar battery capacity and driving range figures. This electric SUV is powered by an 82.56kWh BYD blade battery linked to a permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear. The ‘Performance’ variant also gets a squirrel cage induction asynchronous motor in the front as well. The single-motor variant delivers a maximum power and torque of 308bhp and 380 Nm, respectively. On the other hand, the dual-motor variant belts out a peak power and torque of 523bhp and 690 Nm, respectively. The car has a single-speed automatic transmission system that transfers the power to the wheels.

The ‘Premium’ variant achieves an acceleration of 0-100 km/h within 6.7 while the ‘Performance’ variant does the same spirit within 4.5 seconds. The top speed of the vehicle is claimed to be 215 km/h, irrespective of the variant.

The NEDC combined cycle driving range of the Sealion 7 ranges between 542 km and 567 km, depending upon the variant.

The cabin of the Sealion 7 is furnished with premium Nappa leather seats blending comfort and sophistication. It features a 50-watt wireless charger, a flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel, and even a driver fatigue monitoring system. The inclusion of 12 DYNAUDIO speakers provides an immersive in-cabin music experience. The head-up display is also included which displays the information to the driver without taking its eyes off the road. It also has a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade to provide convenience in the sunny season.

The Sealion 7 interior incorporates a 10.25-inch LCD instrumentation and a 15.6-inch intelligent rotating touchscreen display. It also includes an automatic anti-dazzle inner rear-view mirror and a centre console storage compartment. It has ventilated front seats and the driver seat has a memory function. Additionally, it has A and C-type USB ports in the front and rear and a PM2.5 high-efficiency filter, among others.

BYD Sealion 7 Safety Features

On the safety front, it has front, side, curtain, and rear side airbags. It also has pre-tensioner and load-limiter seatbelts and seat belt reminder features. The car also has a 360-degree camera, an intelligent power brake system, and a traction control system. It gets a hill-hold control, an auto-hold feature, an automatic emergency braking system, and an ISOFIX child seat mount. Moreover, it has several ADAS features like forward collision warning and a front cross-traffic alert, among many other safety features.
