BYD eMAX 7 Powertrain and Transmission

The eMAX 7 comes with two battery pack options, a 55.4kWh battery pack and a 71.8kWh battery pack. Either of the variants is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor.  The one with smaller battery belts out a peak power and torque of 161bhp and 310 Nm, respectively. The latter one delivers a maximum power and torque of 201bhp and 310 Nm, respectively. The vehicle has an automatic transmission system for the smooth transfer of the power to the wheels.

The driving range of this BYD car is 420 km for smaller battery variants. It is 530 km for the bigger battery variants. The range figures are based on the tested conditions and might vary in different conditions.

BYD eMAX 7 Performance

The top speed of the eMAX 7 EV has been claimed to be 180 km/h. The 0-100 km/h sprint time for the smaller battery version is 10.1 seconds. It is 8.6 seconds for the 71.8 kWh battery variants.

This BYD MPV features a robust chassis designed for enhanced stability and ride comfort. Its suspension system includes a combination of front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link setup. They ensure smooth handling and improved shock absorption. The vehicle comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels sporting 225mm wide all-season tyres for optimal grip and performance. The braking system consists of disc brakes on all four wheels along with a regenerative braking technology. The regen braking enhances safety and energy efficiency. Additionally, advanced ABS and electronic stability control are included for added safety.

As this is an updated version of the E6, Its design keeps a few cues of that EV intact. It comes with a refreshed design, retaining the same basic shape and size as the outgoing e6. The headlamps resemble those of the e6. However, there have been notable changes to the front and rear. Front-end modifications include a newly designed bumper with an air dam and an enclosed grille with chrome accents. At the rear, a redesigned bumper and new rear lamps, linked by a slim light bar, complete the updates.

The most significant interior upgrade in the eMAX 7 is a larger 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment display. It is an improvement over the 10.1-inch display in the previous model. The dashboard remains mostly unchanged. The centre console sees minor updates, including two wireless charging pads, refreshed switchgear, and a new drive selector lever.

The eMAX 7 also features a redesigned flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls. It has an advanced instrument cluster that still uses analogue dials. The car also has powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, beige and black upholstery, and a choice between six- or seven-seat configurations.

This BYD electric SUV is equipped with a range of safety features, including six airbags. It also has ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and brake assist. The vehicle has a reinforced body structure, designed to provide enhanced safety and protection in the event of a collision.
