The most-awaited BMW XM has been launched at a price of ₹2.60 crores in India. The newly introduced BMW XM SUV is the first car with an M badge to boast an electrified powertrain. A 4.4-litre BMW M TwinPower Turbo V-8 engine and a high-performance electric motor together offer 644bhp and 800Nm of torque. The XM is mated to an 8-speed automated transmission, which sends power to all four wheels. The SUV is fitted with a 25.7kWh battery pack, which offers an all-electric driving range of up to 88 kilometres. Additionally, it can go from 0 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of up to 140km/h.
The interior of the XM has a quintessential BMW layout. The M Multi-function seats are covered in Merino Leather with bright XM badging. The rear seating section has been developed as an M Lounge. Moreover, it receives the most comprehensive suite of driver-aid features ever installed in a BMW model – the newest iDrive 8 system. The dashboard of the BMW XM features a curved display, which houses the touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument console. Alcantara and carbon-fibre accents, a 1500W Bowers and Wilkins surround sound system, a Heads-Up Display (HUD), and a dual-tone brown & blue interior theme are some of the features found inside the XM.
The BMW XM SUV is 4,876mm long and 5,029mm wide, meaning that it's almost the same size as the X7 model. It features a green paint job with contrasting gold finishes on the grille, shoulder line, wheels, rear diffuser, and window line. The XM's exterior styling includes split headlamps, an illuminated grille, 23-inch wheels, and vertically stacked quad-tip exhausts.
The new XM SUV will go up against the likes of the Audi RS Q8, Mercedes-AMG GLE63, Aston Martin DBX, and Lamborghini Urus in the Indian market.
