In the coming months, BMW plans to introduce a number of new products to the Indian market. In addition to the updated Z4, the X5 SUV, the X3 M40i, and the X3, the German automaker will also introduce the M340i Shadow to the market in the upcoming weeks.
Every year, BMW introduces a slew of new models in an effort to strengthen its position in the lucrative Indian luxury car market. This year is no exception. Reportedly, the German luxury auto giant is getting ready to roll out a range of models in India this month, including the brand-new M2 and the X3 M40i. While the updated Z4 is scheduled to arrive on our soil in the upcoming months. According to the most recent reports, a new trim called "Shadow Edition" will soon be offered, enhancing the sportier appeal of the BMW M340i performance sedan. It will have fresh design cues and a few accessories that amp up the sedan's sporty factor. The Shadow edition of the BMW M340i is anticipated to cost close to Rs 3 lakh more than the base model, which stands at Rs 69.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Its deliveries are anticipated to start in June. BMW M340i xDrive Shadow Edition: What's New?
Following the launch of the updated M340i last year, BMW is now offering a slightly improved model with additional features and distinctive exterior accents. The standard M340i is anticipated to be sold alongside this. The M340i Shadow will come with red brake callipers and darkened exterior trim pieces that replace the chrome, particularly on the grille and headlamp surrounds. It will also receive the M-Sport Pro package with blue-outlined smoked headlamps. Additionally, it receives seatbelts with the BMW M pattern and a 360-degree camera that are not included in the standard M340i. Last but not least, there will be a new Melbourne Red metallic paint option available for the Shadow edition's exterior.
BMW M340i xDrive Shadow Edition: Engine and Transmission
The 3.0-litre, inline-six turbocharged petrol engine is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system to power the M340i Shadow, which uses the same powertrain as the standard vehicle. It has a maximum power and torque output of 374bhp and 500Nm, respectively. Further, an 8-speed automatic gearbox distributes that power to all four wheels. The sprint from 0 to 100km/h is said to take 4.4 seconds.
BMW M340i xDrive Shadow Edition: Interior Details
The interior of the BMW M340i Shadow edition will resemble that of the standard edition, with the exception of the M-Sport seat belts, which have red and blue stripes. Additionally, the dashboard now has a 360-degree camera along with the same integrated floating curved screens. It will still include the same combination of Alcantra upholstery and carbon fibre interior accents to set the interior's tone.

BMW M340i xDrive Shadow Edition: Features
In order to set itself apart from the standard 3 Series sedan, the M340i Shadow is equipped with standard 19-inch alloy wheels, a fixed rear wing, and a slightly different front and rear bumper. It features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen that run BMW's eighth-generation iDrive interface. Over the standard 3 Series, it receives a few mechanical improvements, including an M-specific suspension, an M Sport differential, M Sport brakes, and an M Sport exhaust.
