BMW iX1 Facelift Spotted Testing Overseas; Shows Larger Blanked-off Grille and More
The BMW iX1 facelift appears to be in the initial stages of testing, as suggested by the light camouflage. The finished production version could include more significant changes to the body panels, particularly in the soft plastic areas.
The upcoming BMW iX1 facelift has been spotted testing overseas, showcasing several noticeable design updates. A larger blanked-off grille is most prominent, reflecting the brand's growing emphasis on its electric vehicle (EV) identity. The grille aligns with BMW's signature design language and enhances the SUV's aerodynamic efficiency. The camouflage is limited to the front end of the test mule, indicating that the rest of the vehicle may see few cosmetic updates. This mid-cycle refresh is part of the German carmaker's strategy to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving EV market, where design and performance are key factors. Expect further details on technological and performance upgrades as the new-gen iX1 moves closer to its official debut.

BMW iX1 Facelift Spotted: Key Details
The facelift appears to be in the initial stages of testing, as suggested by the light camouflage. The finished production version could include more significant changes to the body panels, particularly in the soft plastic areas. The mule features a slightly broader closed-off grille, though the bumper is quite similar to the existing model. Additionally, the unchanged LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and headlamp patterns might suggest that BMW is experimenting with an updated driver assistance system. It is important to note that the tailboard badges were hidden at the back.
This could be a new, sportier version in the lineup, as it is equipped with the M Sport package featuring more aggressive front and rear bumpers. Along with its mid-cycle refresh, the iX1 might also see improvements in battery efficiency or upgrades to more powerful electric motors. As far as launch is concerned, the revamped iX1 will likely make its way to the global market next year.
