Audi Q8 Facelift Teased Ahead of India Launch on August 22, Shows Revised Grille, New OLED Taillamps and More
With a few design touches as well as new features, the new Audi Q8 will carry a premium over the current iteration (Rs 1.07 crore to Rs 1.43 crore, ex-showroom).
Audi has now begun teasing the Q8 facelift ahead of its launch in India. Unveiled last year at the Munich Motor Show, the Audi Q8 facelift gets mild cosmetic changes as well as additional features. It is based on the same Volkswagen Group MLB Evo platform as the Q8 e-tron, and is the updated version of the Audi Q8 globally introduced in 2018. While the Q8 facelift has been on sale in the international market for some time now, the Indian market is due to receive the same on August 22.
Going by a teaser, the India-spec Audi Q8 facelift will get a revised grille with new inserts as well as HD Matrix LED headlamps with a high-power laser diode. No major changes are expected in the profile, except for new alloy wheels. At the rear, there seem to be digital, connected LED taillamps with OLED tech. On the global-spec model, the taillamps come with four customisable light designs. The overall silhouette is expected to remain the same as before.
Pulse-accelerating performance. Debuts soon.

Audi Q8 Facelift: Interior
On the inside, the Q8 facelift is likely to closely resemble the outgoing version, with Audi only offering new upholstery and colour options. Features-wise, we expect the car to pack twin MMI touchscreens, a head-up display, four-zone climate control, powered front seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, a Bang &Olufsen sound system, and a powered tailgate.
In terms of safety, Audi could equip the upcoming model with ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, and ADAS tech.
Audi Q8 Facelift: Powertrain
Like the global-spec version, the Indian equivalent is expected to use a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The setup is capable of developing 335bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

With mild cosmetic changes and new features, the new Audi Q8 will carry a premium over the current iteration (Rs 1.07 crore to Rs 1.43 crore, ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will be positioned as the company's flagship SUV in India. It will have rivals in the form of the BMW X7 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS.
