Audi Q8 Engine and Transmission

This car is equipped with a 2995cc V6 engine with four valve per cylinder configuration. It develops a peak power and torque of 335bhp at 5200-6400 rpm and 500 Nm at 1370 Nm, respectively. The deliveries are transferred to wheels through an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission system via a quattro drive train setup.

The Q8 is capable of achieving an acceleration of 0-100 km/h within 5.6 seconds. The top speed of the vehicle is claimed to go up to 250 km/h.

This SUV has a suspension setup with damper control. Its five-link suspension with tubular anti-roll bar and adaptive air springs. It also includes electronically controlled adaptive shock absorbers that adjust based on the varying driving conditions. It rides on 21-inch alloy wheels with 285mm wide tubeless radial tyres. Its braking setup incorporates both disc brakes that leads to a precise stopping power.

Unlike other coupe-SUVs, Audi took a different approach with Q8’s styling. Starting with the front, the face is filled by the company’s massive, octagonal ‘single-frame’ grille with chrome inserts. It sits flush and goes well with the overall design. The headlamps are sharp and angular, and for those wondering, these are Audi’s Matrix LED units with a new DRL design. The large air dams add a layer of sportiness to the front too.

Viewed from the side, Audi’s take on the coupe structure is quite different. It flaunts a slightly tapered roof that vanishes into the chunky C-pillar, rather than sloping all the way from the B-pillar. The five-spoke graphite grey wheels look sharp and nice. The rear end of the Audi Q8 new model is as beautiful as a coupe-SUV can get. It showcases  new LED taillamps which are joined by a strip of LED and a gloss black insert.

Audi Q8 Interior

The quality of the interior and seats is simply commendable. The layout of the dashboard, however, is quite similar to the A6. Now, that isn’t particularly a bad thing, but it does rob away from the car’s novelty value. The steering feels nice to hold and has mounted controls for multiple operation. The Q8 also features dual-zone climate control as standard, while a four-zone climate control unit is optional.

The standard equipment includes a massive panoramic sunroof, windshield with heat-insulating glass, and electric sunshades for the rear side windows. It has manual sunshade for the rear window and electrically-operated front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat. The Audi virtual cockpit display is 12.29-inch fully digital instrument cluster that is innovative and intuitive. It displays all the essential information to the driver such as engine speed, maps, radio and media, among others. Moreover, it has MMI navigation plus with MMI touch response and Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System with 3D sound. It also has an Audi phone box light that offers wireless charging to keep the mobile device charged on the go.

Audi Q8 Safety Features

On the safety front, it gets overspeed warning, emergency brake light flashing, and high beam assist features. The Audi Q8 is also awarded a five-star crash test rating from the Euro NCAP. The safety is further ensured by seatbelt warning, child seat anchor points, and eight airbags including curtain and side airbags. Additionally, a rear middle three-point seatbelt, rear middle head rest, and a tyre pressure monitoring system are also included.
