New Audi Q5 with Refreshed Headlamp Design Teased, Global Debut on September 2
The new Audi Q5 sits on the familiar Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) platform, which will spawn Audi’s next-generation internal combustion and hybrid vehicles.
At its annual sales conference in March 2024, Audi revealed plans to introduce at least 20 new models by 2025, over 10 of which will be pure electric. While the Audi Q6 e-tron and A6 e-tron electric vehicles debuted globally in March 2024 and late July 2024, respectively, the new A5 replaced Audi's compact A4 sedan in mid-July. The A5 is the first ICE model to adopt Audi's new naming strategy for next-generation vehicles, and according to that, Audi's even-numbered cars will be electric and its cars with odd numbers will still be available with conventional combustion engines.
Now, Audi is working toward unveiling its third-generation Q5 on September 2. The design details are scarce, but the first official teaser shows a new, wider grille as well as slimmer but elongated headlamps with LED daytime running lamps. While the bumper is not visible, we expect it to be sharper than before. Other expected bits include OLED tail lamps and new alloy wheels.
