Aston Martin DBX Engine and Other Specifications
On its dedicated platform, unlike other Aston Martin models, there is a Mercedes-AMG-sourced, 4.0-litre, V8 turbocharged engine, which churns out 542 hp at 6500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. At the same time, the transmission is also Mercedes-sourced: a 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox. For reference, the 9G-Tronic incorporates a DCT unit. Interestingly, the current iteration of the Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 uses the same powertrain as the Aston Martin DBX. But they have a different state of tune. However, this British-made SUV has all-wheel drive as standard. It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 292 km/h.
In addition, customers can choose the DBX with a higher state of tune than the standard DBX. The DBX 707 is the new variant that made its global debut at the beginning of 2022. Technically, it's a sportier iteration with a retuned engine with an upgraded AMG'S 9G Tronic gearbox (now with wet-clutch and revised gear ratios), alongside a few cosmetic changes with carbon-fibre treatments. As far as the remapped engine is concerned, the DBX 707 can pump out 697 hp at 6000 rpm and 900 Nm of torque at 2750-4500 rpm. Given all these revamps, the Aston Martin DBX 707 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds! It attains a top speed of 310 km/h. However, these changes further led to a revamp in suspension tuning and steering wheel. This Aston Martin SUV is the first of its kind, as it boasts air suspension, unlike other models in the British carmaker’s portfolio.
Aston Martin DBX Exterior
If you’ll ever see the front end of the DBX, you won’t mistake it for any other vehicle because of Aston Martin’s signature grille with horizontal slats. In fact, this SUV has a largest grille than any other Aston Martin car. Moreover, the British luxury carmaker has managed to retain the traditional Aston Martin silhouette on this SUV as well. The front fascia has oval-shaped LED lights with DRLs on the lower section of the front bumper. In addition, the bonnet incorporates dual air vents for better engine cooling. Moreover, this SUV has a smooth body surface with flush door handles, active side air vents near the front fenders, an integrated rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser on the lower section of the rear bumper, making the car aerodynamic-friendly.
Aston Martin DBX Interior
There is no need to tell the type of interior this SUV has. It is tacit that it has a luxurious-sporty cabin, as they are known for taking that design approach. The interior, however, resembles new-age Aston Martin cars. As far as standard DBX’s interior goes, it features semi-aniline leather upholstery with Aston Martin’s logo on headrests and signature quilting and broguing. Further, this British-made performance SUV also boasts perforated seats, which usually translate to ventilated seats. That said, both front and rear seats can be either heated or cooled. At the same time, you also get a leather-wrapped-dual-tone-multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters. As for interior colour options, you can pick a monotone or dual-tone scheme. In addition, the British carmaker also offers several wood treatments and a carbon fibre treatment as well.
As for the DBX features, there is an integrated touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment screen also shows the rear objects with adaptive guidelines that work in tandem with rear parking sensors. That works when the car is in Reverse gear.
Other features include a voice command, a navigating system, a CD player, ambient lighting, a USB port, and a cooled glove box, to name a few. This SUV also lets you store your expensive sunglasses in the sunglass holder. Besides that, if you want more sunlight to enter the cabin- you can open the lid of the panoramic sunroof. It will surely give you a sense of airiness and can make the cabin feel less hemmed in. The luxurious dashboard also includes a fully digital instrument cluster.
Aston Martin DBX Safety Features
On the safety front, the Aston Martin DBX has ten airbags, a tyre pressure monitor, child-seat anchorages, ABS with EBD, ESP, traction control, hill-hold control, LSD, Launch Control, Suspension Control, brake assist, etc. Further, there are auto-dimming mirrors, auto HVAC, auto headlights, and rain-sensing wipers, to name a few.
Aston Martin DBX Price and Variants
The Aston Martin DBX has two variants: a standard DBX and a 707. The Aston Martin DBX’s price range is similar to the rivals that are mentioned in the introduction.
