Yamaha R15 V4 Exterior Details

Every variant of the Yamaha R15 takes design cues from a super sport 'elder brother', so to speak. The exterior of the R15 V4 is no different, taking inspiration from the latest 2021 Yamaha YZF R7 that the automaker launched in the international market. The new face has sharp features with minimalistic DRLs adding to the aggressive look of the bike. The bike also features a new windscreen that works better than previous versions, as Yamaha claims the front end has better aerodynamic flow, thanks to the redesign. The new YZF R15 also gets a few delectable paint schemes and significantly improved fit and finish. The Yamaha YZF R15 V4's dimensions are 1990mm in length, 725mm in width and 1135mm in height.

Yamaha R15 V4 Engine & Transmission

The Yamaha YZF R15 V4 gets the same 155cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder, albeit with a few updates. The new engine has seen re-tuning, leading to a marginal drop in power for more torque that comes in a 1000 rpm earlier in the rev band. The new Yamaha R15 delivers 18.4 PS of power at 10000rpm and a max torque of 14.2 Nm at 7500rpm. This power delivery comes mated to a 6-speed slipper clutch transmission.

Yamaha R15 V4 Handling

One of the largest updates in the latest variant of the Yamaha YZF R15 V4 is the new USD suspension it gets. Although the suspension doesn't get preload adjustment, it does certify a smoother ride. For rear suspension duties, the Yamaha YZF R15 V4 gets the same preload-adjustable monoshock as its previous variant. The bike also gets dual-channel ABS and, for the first time in this class, traction control.

The latest generation of the Yamaha YZF R15 comes packed with features, the predominant being its redesign based on the R7. The bike also gets a complete LED treatment, a new projector headlamp and aggressive DRLs. Yamaha's latest offering is also Bluetooth compatible, thanks to its new digital instrument console that works with Yamaha's Y-Connect app. The bike also gets two riding modes that don't change the power delivery but do change what the display shows. In track mode, the display features a lap timer. Other display features include gear position indicator, call and messaging alerts, fuel efficiency and more. The Yamaha YZF R15 V4's Racing Blue and MotoGP Edition variants get even more features, such as a quick shifter as standard, which is an addable option for base variants.

The Yamaha YZF R15 V4 gets several colours and variants. The Yamaha YZF R15 V4 Metallic Red and Metallic Grey variants are priced at ₹1.68 lakhs (Ex-Showroom). The Racing Blue variant is priced at ₹1.73 lakhs (Ex-Showroom), while the Yamaha YZF R15M variant is priced at ₹ 1.78 lakhs (Ex-Showroom). The exclusive Yamaha YZF R15 Monster Energy Edition is the top variant, priced at ₹1.8 lakhs (Ex-Showroom).
