Vespa Notte Highlights
Vespa's all-black stealthy scooter has hit the Indian market. Enter, the Vespa Notte. Standing for "Night" in Italian, the Notte is essentially the Vespa Urban Club dipped in black and given an all-stealth treatment. It features the same heart as the rest of Vespa's line-up, and for its BS6 2021 variant, loses out on a few features yet gets a bump in premium. Nevertheless, the Vespa Notte is still the Italian's most affordable scooter. So does the 2021 Vespa Notte make a compelling case for itself? Read on for more information.
Exterior Details
This year's changes to the Vespa Notte are mostly mechanical, and the bike remains the same cosmetically. That being said, the Vespa Notte features an all-black colour scheme and a classic European retro-scooter silhouette. It gets a round halogen unit for a headlight, blacked-out mirrors and classic European-scooter curves and lines with a usable, flat floorboard.
Engine & Transmission
Piaggio India has equipped the Vespa Notte with a 125cc BS6 emissions-compliant, single-cylinder engine. The heart of the Vespa is good for 10PS of power at 7500rpm and 9.6Nm of peak torque at 5500rpm. This is slightly under the performance figures of the outgoing BS4 model. For safety, the scooter gets CBS as standard.
Handling
Handling duties for the Vespa Notte are given to a single sidearm suspension on the front end with Anti-Dive and a rear shock absorber. Despite the scooter's premium for the BS6 variant, it gets only drum brakes on both ends. The scooter's alloy rims are shod with tubed tyres.
Features
The Vespa Notte bodes quite a few similarities to its sibling models, the majority difference between them all being cosmetic. The Vespa Notten features a stealth black colour scheme with blacked-out alloys and grab-rails. It does get a few contrasting chrome bits with the blacked-out look of the rest of the scooter, such as a chrome heat shield on the exhaust. The instrument unit is an analogue display for the speedometer and tachometer and gets a small digital screen for its trip meter.
Price & Variants
The Vespa Notte is sold in India at a price point of ₹93,144 (Ex-Showroom). The scooter gets only one standard variant, and being a specialised variant, it gets a singular colour scheme - Matte Black.
