Triumph Street Scrambler Highlights
The Triumph Street Scrambler can be classified as the British automaker's most affordable Scrambler offering in the Indian market. Now, the 900cc mini scrambler comes to Indian sporting BS6 emission updates. In pure Triumph fashion, the Street Scrambler sports retro styling with a modern touch. The bike also sports Triumph's quintessential retro street bike gone off-road styling that the Scrambler range is known for. So, what is new with the latest 2021 BS6 Triumph Street Scrambler in India? Read on for more information.
Exterior Details
The Triumph Street Scrambler's exterior design sees heavy influence by its larger Scrambler sibling variants. Yet, it is based on the Triumph Street platform. The result is a smaller Scrambler, with less travel and tall posturing as expected from a conventional off-road vehicle. That being said the bike does come equipped to take the road less travelled. For its BS6 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler variant, the bike gets a few updates such as brushed aluminium bits, new cosmetic changes including new colour schemes and updates to the bike's cockpit.
Engine & Transmission
Powering the Triumph Street Scrambler is a 900cc BS6 emissions-compliant, liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor. The engine is capable of 65PS of power at 7250rpm and torque figures remain the same as the outgoing variant, at 80Nm of peak torque at 3250rpm. For this year, the motor powering the Triumph Street Scrambler gets lighter components for better performance. This has increased the overall rev limit of the bike to 7500rpm. Supporting the engine is a five-speed manual transmission, paired with a slip and assist clutch. For safety, the bike gets switchable, dual-channel ABS.
Handling
Handling duties for the Triumph Street Scrambler are taken care of by 41mm KYB internal cartridge damping forks on the front end. The rear benefits from a KYB mono-shock suspension. Braking duties are now improved for the front's 19-inch rim with a four-piston Brembo calliper replacing the outgoing two-piston calliper. The rear end continues to benefit from the same Nissin calliper. In keeping up with its Scrambler status, the bike gets spoked rims and dual-purpose tyres front and rear.
Features
The Triumph Street Scrambler continues with a few features from its previous variant while also getting a few new ones for its update. The bike gets a key-fob immobilizer and a standard USB charging port. Featuring in the scrambler is also a complete LED lighting treatment, including a new headlight set up. The bike gets a few cosmetic updates as well, such as brushed aluminium pieces and an aluminium number board on the side. Switchable ABS and switchable traction control are now standard on the new Scrambler, along with new rider modes. The bike gets three rider modes and all the data is controllable through the Street Scrambler's new semi-digital display unit.
Price & Variants
The Triumph Street Scrambler is priced in India at ₹9.35 lakh (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi). The bike gets three new colour schemes - Jet Black, Urban Grey and Matte Khatte/ Matte Ironstone.
