1. 15 August 2024: Ola’s Roadster range of electric bikes has been launched in India, with major new technologies.

OLA Roadster Engine and Transmission

The Roadster electric bike comes with three Lithium-ion battery options – a 3.5 kWh, a 4.5 kWh, and 6 kWh. The respective battery is linked to an electric motor, depending upon the variant, providing a maximum power of 13000W. The power transmission task is handled by an automatic gearbox.

OLA Roadster Performance

This Ola motorcycle achieves a sprint of 0-40 km/h within 2.2 seconds. Its top speed goes up to 116 km/h with the 3.5kWh battery and 126 km/h with the other two battery set ups.

OLA Roadster Riding Range

The base variant of the Roadster delivers a range of 151km on a single charge while the mid-variant delivers 190 km. The top 6 kWh battery variant offers a range of 248 km on a single charge. The fast charger takes 4.6 hours, 5.9 hours, and 7.9 hours, respectively, to charge these batteries from 0% to 80%.

OLA Roadster Specifications

This Ola electric bike has a steel frame and a standard front fork and a mono-shock absorber in the rear. The wheels are all alloys with the radial tubeless tyres. On the braking front, it gets discs at both ends with a single-channel anti-lock braking system for better stopping power.

OLA Roadster Exterior Design and Elements

This motorbike features a sporty and elegant design including a sleek headlamp and a striking daytime running light. The headlamp housing is flanked by the sleek turn indicators and the silver-tone elements are also visible on both sides. The handlebar houses stylish rear-view mirrors to enhances the vehicle’s futuristic look and to give the view of rear traffic. The side profile exhibits a five-dual-spoke wheel design, red inserts, graphics, and a single-stepped seat with a pillion grab bar. The powertrain and transmission are housed in the solid black housing, securing them from external impacts. In the rear, it displays sleek tail light, tiny turn indicators, and a number plate illumination light.

OLA Roadster Features

The Ola Electric Roadster has a 7-inch TFT based touch screen display, providing all essential rider information. It also navigation maps and a few smart connectivity features. The bike has LED lighting system, a Krutrim voice assistant, and a smart park assist with 2 km/h speed limit. The bike also gets four ride modes – Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco. Furthermore, it has an advanced regen system providing additional top-up to the battery during the ride. It also has a cruise control system to rest the wrists and group navigation to avoid waiting in group trips.

The Roadster Electric also has a hill hold control, hill descent control, and proximity lock/unlock. It gets tyre pressure monitoring system to keeps the tyre pressure on check and avoid sudden tyre flattening. Besides, the bike has cornering ABS, temper alert, and emergency SOS alerts.
