KTM 1290 Super Adventure S Engine and Transmission

This bike has a V-twin LC8 engine with a displacement of 1301cc with a 75-degree four-valve DOHC cylinder head. It also incorporates a twin-plug ignition system that controls differently sized spark plugs in each cylinder. This leads to better-controlled power and lower fuel consumption along with reduced emissions. The engine develops a peak power and torque of 158bhp at 8750 RPM and 140 Nm at 6500 RPM, respectively. These deliveries are transferred to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission system.

Though the rated speed figures are not available, it is said to go up to 240 km/h of the speed. It is also said to achieve an acceleration of 0-100 km/h within 3.3 seconds. Given the fact that these figures are not official, there might be variations in them.

The 1290 Super Adventure S comes with WP 48mm upside-down front suspension with semi-active technology. It adjusts the damping force based on the road conditions to improve the ride comfort and control. The rear suspension includes WP shock absorbers with the same semi-active technology. The travel-ability for both the suspensions is 200mm.

This KTM bike has 19-inch front wheel with a 120mm wide tyre and a 17-inch rear wheel with a 170mm wide tubeless tyre. Its braking setup incorporates a 320mm front disc and a 267mm rear disc accompanied by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system.

This adventure tourer flaunts an aggressive shield-shaped headlamp setup and a transparent visor of a similar shape. The headlight is flanked by DRLs and cornering lights that provide a clean and distinctive look. The side profile of the bike exhibits a split seat setup, model name graphics, and a wide upswept exhaust pipe. The tail section showcases a sturdy carrier, a sleek tail light, and a reflector flanked by turn indicators.

This Super Adventure S bike gets a 7-inch TFT display with a turn-by-turn navigation system and KTM-connect feature. It displays essential information such as speed, gear position, tyre pressure, and fuel information, among others. It is also equipped with a radar-based cruise control system. It can lock on to a preceding vehicle, automatically adjust speed, and maintain a safe following distance, providing enjoyable cruising. Additionally, it gets a Race-on feature, a traction control system, and a stability control system with cornering ABS. It also has a tyre pressure monitoring system, a spin adjuster, and an automatic turn indicator reset feature, among others.
