The Kawasaki Z900 RS is a retro-themed motorcycle, which is based on the Z900 street bike. Talking about the retro design, there is a round headlamp at the front, twin-pod instrument cluster with a digital touch, and the exhaust comes finished in chrome. The engine is detuned compared to the Z900 in terms of power while the torque has been spread out for comfortable riding experience.
Exterior Details
The new Z900 RS is a very retro-looking motorcycle. Dimensionally, the retro Kawasaki is 2,100mm long, 865m wide, and 1,150mm in height. Ground clearance is 130mm, and the kerb weight is a hefty 215kg. The fuel tank can hold 17-litres of petrol.
Engine & Transmission
The Kawasaki Z900 RS comes powered by the same 948cc four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 108.4bhp and 98.5Nm of torque, which, as said earlier, is slightly detuned for the Z900 RS. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Despite being a powerful motorcycle, the Kawasaki Z900 RS mileage is quite decent at 20km/l.
Handling
The Z900 RS rides on a 120/70 ZR17 M/C 58W section tyre at the front and a 180/55 ZR17 M/C 73W section tyre at the rear. The bike is based on a trellis, high-tensile steel chassis while its suspension is taken care of by inverted telescopic forks at the front and a horizontal back-link at the back. The braking is handled by dual semi-floating 300mm discs at the front and a 250mm disc at the rear.
Features
The Kawasaki Z900 RS new model is equipped with a twin-pod analogue cluster for the speedometer and the tachometer. There’s an LCD screen, too, which gives a wealth of information. All the electricals get LED treatment as standard. Talking about the features, the Z900 RS gets a fine-tuned exhaust note, riding modes, traction control and ABS as standard.
