The Kawasaki Z400 is said to be the naked version of the Ninja 400. It is expected to be built on the same platform and drivetrain as its fully-faired sibling. It shall go against the KTM 390 Duke and the Bajaj Dominar 400 in its segment. Besides, the Kawasaki Z400 price is anticipated to range between 3.9 lakhs and 4.4 Lakhs.

Kawasaki Z400 Engine and Transmission
The Z400 shall be powered by a 399cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that has a four-valve per-cylinder configuration. It shall put out a peak power of 47.5bhp at 10000 rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 8000 rpm. The power transmission task should be handled by a six-speed return shift gearbox operating through a sealed chain drive system.

The Kawasaki bike shall be built on a high-tensile steel-made trellis frame. It shall come with a telescopic front suspension with a wheel travel of around 4.7 inches. Kawasaki took the wraps off the upcoming Z400 at the 2018 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The motorcycle is said to follow the ‘Sugomi’ design language that will make the Z400 aesthetically identical to its elder siblings. Looking at the available pictures, it is evident that the bike features an aggressive headlamp and a sculpted-like transparent visor. The edgy turn indicators have been placed on the visor and uniquely designed rear-view mirrors on the handlebar.
The side profile of this Kawasaki motorcycle exhibits a sculpted fuel tank with an edgy badge plate with model branding. The seat is split and stepped while the exhaust pipe is upswept. There is also a radiator shroud that keeps the engine protected from dust and dirt and supplies fresh air. The images also showcase aluminium foot pegs for riders and pillion.
In the rear, the Z400 has a wide tail lamp, traditional-looking indicators, and a registration plate illuminator.

This upcoming bike shall be equipped with an antilock braking system to keep the vehicle skid-resistant. It should also have an economical riding indicator to ensure that the bike is consuming a low amount of fuel. It is also slated to have a digital instrument cluster and a mobile phone charging port, among others.

Though the manufacturer did not provide any information on the two-wheeler launch date, we expect its arrival later this year.
