Hero Destini Prime Highlights
The indigenous automotive manufacturer added another version of the existing Hero Destini, which commands a lesser price but comes with lesser offerings. In addition, this 125cc two-wheeler is currently available in one variant only, the standard (STD).
Speaking of its price, the Hero Destini Prime takes the likes of the Suzuki Access 125, TVS Jupiter 125, Yamaha Fascino Fi Hybrid, and the Honda Activa 125.
So, let’s see what all offerings the Hero Destini Prime have. Let’s read on, then.
Hero Destini Prime’s Latest Updates
- 12 August 2024: Hero patents the design of 2025 Destini in India, hinting to major updates.
Hero Destini Prime’s Specifications
Like other Hero bikes, the Destini Prime is also structured by using a high-rigidity underbone chassis. This chassis is designed to accommodate a 125cc engine (124.6cc), which incorporates a single-cylinder, air-cooled mill that is tuned to churn out 9 bhp at 7000 rpm and 10.36 Nm of peak torque at 5500 rpm.
The top speed of the Hero Destini 125 is 85 km/h.
For your reference, this same 125cc engine powers the Hero Destini Xtec and the Hero Maestro Edge 125. That said, the Destini Prime pumps out a slightly lesser torque than the Destini Xtec and the Maestro Edge.
In addition, like all other scooters, the Hero Destini Prime makes the rear wheel via a standard CVT gearbox. Besides that, this homegrown two-wheeler has a decent fuel tank capacity of 5 litres.
Keeping the figures aside, let’s now jump to the suspension setup offered on this indigenous scooter. But before that, it is worth mentioning that most homegrown vehicles are designed by keeping the local road conditions in mind. So, it should be safe to say that the Hero Destini Prime can soak the undulations and bumps from potholes with ease. That said, this two-wheeler stands on a telescopic fork at the front and a single-coil spring hydraulic-type suspension at the rear.
Furthermore, the braking duties are taken care of by dual drum brakes only. The size of the front drum brake and rear drum brake is rated at 130mm. However, it is worth noting that the presence of disc brake(s) will offer a superior braking performance to the conventional brakes setup.
For added safety, the Hero Destini Prime 125 is equipped with an integrated braking system (IBS). It has the same working principle as the combined braking system (CBS). It’s just that the Hero MotoCorp coined the ‘IBS’ term, while Honda coined the ‘CBS’ term. For your reference, this braking system is extremely useful, as it can decrease the chances of making the two-wheeler do a stoppie or skidding.
Hero Destini Prime’s Features
Given the Destini 125 price, it has a respectable number of new-age offerings, but it won’t be as feature-loaded as its higher iteration, the Destini Xtec. However, the DestinI Prime 125 is equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster in which the speedometer is analogue, while the odometer, tachometer and tripmeter are all digitally displayed.
Other offerings of the Hero Destini Prime 125 comprise a side-stand alarm, a low fuel indicator, under-seat storage, a pass light, a boot light, and a USB charging port. Other than that, it also boasts kick and electric start and Hero MotoCorp’s XSENS Advantage Technology.
As far as the lighting is concerned, the Hero Destini Prime 125 is equipped with an LED headlight, an LED tail light, an LED brake light, and a LED turn lamp. The main front and rear lights can also be automatically switched on by using the automatic headlight feature.
Hero Destini Prime’s Prices and Variants
As mentioned earlier, the Hero MotoCorp currently offers only one variant, the standard (STD). At the same time, a customer can choose the exterior paint from three available colours: Pearl Silver White, Nexus Blue and Nobel Red.
That said, the Hero Destini Prime’s price is similar to those of its direct rivals.
