Ducati Scrambler Nightshift Engine, Specifications, and Performance

This Ducati bike is powered by an 803cc, air-cooled L-twin Desmodromic engine that has a two-valve per cylinder configuration. It puts out a peak power and torque of 71.87bhp at 8250 rpm and 65.2 Nm at 5750 rpm, respectively. This engine is now BS6 emissions-compatible and is supported by a six-speed manual transmission. Ducati states that in the Nightshift, the engine has been slightly retuned for smoother and more linear power delivery.

For handling duties, this motorcycle gets 41mm USD front forks from Kayaba. On the rear, the bike bounces off of Indian road's undulations on a preload-adjustable Kayaba mono-shock suspension. Stopping power is provided by a 330mm single disc at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear. The bike gets ABS and cornering ABS for safety. 

This motorcycle rides on an 18-inch spoked aluminum front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. The front wheel sports a 110mm wide Pirelli MT tyre and the rear wheel sports a 180mm wide tyre. Dimensionally, the Scrambler Nightshift has a length of 2100mm along with a wheelbase of 1060mm. The overall height is also nearly 1060mm while the seat height and ground clearance are 795mm and 176mm respectively. Further, this vehicle has an overall width of 867mm and kerb weight of 191 kg.

The Ducati Scrambler Nightshift is based on the Icon variant but gets a significant list of stylized changes. The most noticeable being its new stealthy blue and charcoal colour scheme. The new Scrambler gets Cafe Racer-style minimalistic tweaks carried over from the Ducati Scrambler's old Cafe Racer variant. The bike features a slightly hunkered, aggressive posture thanks to its flatter handlebars. It is a significant shift from the standard Ducati Scrambler’s look and posture. Other than that, it exhibits a short front fender, single tuck and roll seat design, and an upswept exhaust pipe. The turn indicators are unique and stylish while the headlamp is in circular shape.

This Ducati motorcycle comes with several comfort, convenience, and safety features. New changes on the Nightshift include a flatter cafe racer-style seat, an asymmetrical instrument cluster, and flat-track style side-mounted plates. The instrument cluster is a 4.3-inch TFT and the bike gets a complete LED lighting treatment. Furthermore, this two-wheeler gets a quick shifter that helps in smooth and effortless gear shifting, adding to ride comfort. It gets a multimedia system that aids in connecting the smartphone to the bike and accessing it through handlebar controls. This machine also gets two riding modes separately tuned for dry and wet surfaces. Moreover, it gets a cornering anti-lock braking system and traction control system, to provide stability and safety during the ride.
